Hi LinaHugo,

Just curiosity, did you change your name to take your spouse's last name? Our's got delayed also and we just received the NOA1 yesterday. I have theory that this delay was due to my wife changing her last name. Her current 2 year GC has her maiden name but this time around when we applied for her ROC we requested to change her name to take my last name. The NOA notice now reflects her new name. I believe they first updated their system to reflect the change hence why it took a while for us to get a response from them.

Hi, no, I didn't change my name. Still waiting for finger print app notice. Hope it's coming soon.

Here's an update on my our case.

Documents were sent on 2/22

Documents were received by USCIS on 2/26

Check was cashed on 3/12

NOA1 received on 3/16 (Received Dated 2/26 and Notice Dated 3/8)

It's rather unusual that they took long to cash the check and send us the NOA1 but then again it's been a waiting game throughout this process from day one. However, I have theory that this delay was due to my wife changing her last name.

Honestly if you go and check the table with everyone's data, your timeline is not much different than the rest of us, mine is almost the same +/- a couple of days. I don't think your case is different and it's just USCIS taking their sweet time.

My AOS timeline

Oh so does this mean you received your NOA already if you're waiting for your biometrics appointment. Sorry if I miss read your initial post. I don't think anyone has gotten their biometrics appt yet. I believe some January filers are still waiting for theirs also.

You maybe right but I guess I'm just giving them the benefit of doubts that they were actually doing something with our case which caused them the delay :D But this process is definitely a waiting game.

Hi Lina,

I did had similar to your case, but mine was my name was so long and it does not show in my GC card.

When we where interviewed by the immigration officer, I can only change my name once I applied for citizenship.

So I need to stick with it and since they have all my record , He also guarantee to me nothing to worry as long as I used my name according the marriage certificate and issued GC.He also got my employment authorization middle initial corrected too.

So, I'm not sure how your wife had her changed the last name cause this should had been corrected on your first interview getting the 2 years GC. There will be surely confusion.

hi everyone!!!

well I did some research and if I got it correctly then it takes 7 weeks to get the biometric letter from the time they received your application or the time u received your NOA not sure which one is it.

I read people experiences on getting the biometric letter after filing and it’s about the same for everyone ( 2015/2016 Experiences)

so let’s hope we get that letter soon!

:)))))

Hi everyone, so here we are, most of us February 2018 filers waiting for our biometrics letter, ( I know a few are still waiting for their NOA1's, and I hope you get them soon)

I want to kill some time while we are waiting,  as I know this next step will be a long process, so how long did it take you to get your Green Card after applying for AOS?

It took me just under 7 weeks for my K1, which surprised me as I waited an awful long time in the backlog at Texas for my K1 approval. I am from the UK.

How long did you wait for your AOS?

My wife's GC took about 11 months after we filed for AOS. I remember doing a really good job of putting it out of my mind for most of that time! She's also from the UK. :)

K1 Visa took around 4 months until Visa in hand.  Green card took about three months from submitting AoS until GC in hand.  So this is our first exceptionally long wait.  Even just waiting for biometrics is a pain in the butt.

They are from Vermont.  VSC tends to be a bit quicker, so I suspect a lot more VSCers will be having news in the next few weeks.
