Thank you so much for such a thoughtful response, I really appreciate it. I'm sorry to hear about your experiences so far, I remember the Texas backlog and how ridiculous it was for those who filed there. Also cannot believe they sent your interview letter to a random person, how on earth did that happen?! Completely agree with you about receiving the extension letter, once that's in my hands I won't worry as much. Knowing as well that I could apply for citizenship next year if I still don't have my 10 year GC helps too.

Seems like VSC heard my whining from afar, because the check was cashed today! What a huge relief. Now that I know that my case is actually inside the building I can breath easier.

Hi again Shana

well I'm glad you appreciated my reply, I'm not trying to scold anybody like some people do, just trying to share that this process seems so inconsistent and beyond comprehension, yes my interview letter and complete K1 file going to a complete stranger in London completely freaked me out considering how much personal information was on that complete file, when I contacted the embassy they sort of just shrugged it off, like nothing out of the ordinary happened, it seemed that our reference numbers were similar!

Oh yes that Texas backlog was terrible wasn't it, made even worse when they transferred cases to CSC  who applied after mine and I was stuck in the back log of all back logs at Texas!!! lol

So you can imagine the surprise after all that delay in the K1 when my green card came in less than 7 weeks.

So they have cashed your cheque...good news, that means they haven;t lost your file and there should be a NOA1 arriving soon, we are both from the UK I see, it will be interesting how we get through this next phase  with mine going to California and yours going to Vermont, I think Vermont is faster !

Yeah, I agree, it'll be interesting to see how our timelines match up :). The Texas backlog was awful! I accidentally posted in the Texas thread for K-1 applications and almost got beheaded from people o_O. Tensions were super high, I hated that people had to wait for so long. I think if we can be thankful for anything, at least we're HERE now with our significant other instead of countries apart :).

Was "Autmagically" another lack of sleep symptom, because I now love that word  Congrats on the new baby!

Hello all. Sorry - I've been out of town after I sent in my i-751 so I'm a little late to add here but if you'd like to add me to the list, I'd appreciate it. :) Been keeping track of the dates and this forum - just didn't know when the NOA date was until I got home to check the mailbox!

02/20 Mailed i-751 to California

02/22 i-751 delivered confirmation

02/24 NOA dated

02/27 Check cashed

Thank you!

Further detail on our timeline: Conditional residency expires 4/18/2018, we filed a little on the late side (though still within the 90 days). Sent package on 2/19, received at VSC 2/23. Check was cashed 2/27, NOA arrived 3/5.

I was (and still am a little) worried because of the new focus on "extreme vetting" or whatever and whether that would impact us since my wife is from one of the travel ban countries. But so far there haven't been any issues.

Well just received a request for employment re-verification from my Husband's employer.  Everything I've researched points to this being illegal.  I'm not sure if I should take the NOA and print out that they shouldn't be asking, or just show documentation that it's illegal.

How is it illegal to make sure the people you've hired are legally able to work? My work place gets inspected once a year and would probably get into a lot of issues if their people didn't show them that they had permission to work and I'm going to bring in my NOA to work next week.

Read employment re-verification requirements on the USCIS site. I don't want to be constantly hounded for proof when this employer doesn't check every year for other employees.

Bringing the NOA will guarantee having to do again in a year, then however often til new card issued.  Plus it may not even be accepted.
