;__; Getting worried that I'm seeing people who filed after me are getting their NOA's. I'm sure it's down to individuals at USCIS just not going through the cases that pile up on their desk, but would be nice to see the check be cashed at the very least! Anxiety brain is in full on "what if the package got misplaced?!"

Care to share your timeline with the group and we can add you to the tracking table? I would also encourage you to update your timeline here on VJ, it's really helpful to others who are tracking similar timescales.

Hello all. Sorry - I've been out of town after I sent in my i-751 so I'm a little late to add here but if you'd like to add me to the list, I'd appreciate it. :) Been keeping track of the dates and this forum - just didn't know when the NOA date was until I got home to check the mailbox!

02/20 Mailed i-751 to California

02/22 i-751 delivered confirmation

02/24 NOA dated

02/27 Check cashed

Thank you!

Timeline

Further detail on our timeline: Conditional residency expires 4/18/2018, we filed a little on the late side (though still within the 90 days). Sent package on 2/19, received at VSC 2/23. Check was cashed 2/27, NOA arrived 3/5.

I was (and still am a little) worried because of the new focus on "extreme vetting" or whatever and whether that would impact us since my wife is from one of the travel ban countries. But so far there haven't been any issues.

Hi Shana

I know it's hard not to worry, but please don't over think what might or might not be happening be happening at USCIS, I've worked out by now in this process that there is no rhyme or reason to how they handle our cases, there is no consistency it seems, I originally got stuck in the Texas backlog during my K1 process and then watched as they realized how bad it was and started to transfer cases from Texas to California which were approving them in 1 month, meanwhile I'm right at the back end of the back log and just stuck there.

During that K1 process, the London embassy sent my interview letter and my complete K1 file to a complete stranger in London , totally different surname and sex and that held up my interview even more, (lucky the lady was honest and nice and contacted me, otherwise I would have been none the wiser)they didn't even apologize or even move my interview date up a bit. :ranting:

Then come the AOS process, and they approved my case in 7 WEEKS to get my green card, where as other people were waiting 4-5-6 months, 1 year, 2 years even !  there seems to be no system you can count on, so believe me I feel your anxiety, but try not to think about it and I do hope you get your NOA soon.

I've got to the stage where as long as I have that extension letter, I don't really care now how long it takes as I am fully legal, just going to wait for my window to open up on becoming a citizen, although I am always tempted to go and look at the January 2018 fliers and compare how long they waited for their bio metrics, that's the problem with joining these forums, it's great for the support of your fellow filers, but you start comparing cases and waiting times, like a double edged weapon.

Believe me Shana I know how you are feeling, pray you get your NOA1 very soon!    And don't forget that Vermont seem a lot faster than California it seems, look on the brightside!

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful response, I really appreciate it. I'm sorry to hear about your experiences so far, I remember the Texas backlog and how ridiculous it was for those who filed there. Also cannot believe they sent your interview letter to a random person, how on earth did that happen?! Completely agree with you about receiving the extension letter, once that's in my hands I won't worry as much. Knowing as well that I could apply for citizenship next year if I still don't have my 10 year GC helps too.

Seems like VSC heard my whining from afar, because the check was cashed today! What a huge relief. Now that I know that my case is actually inside the building I can breath easier.
