I-751 February 2018 Filers

Hey everyone!

I filed my i751 2/18 and I have yet to hear anything at all. No biometrics, no transfer or anything. I’ve been logging on to see my case status and all it says is that my application was recived. Should I contact USCIS? If yes, then who should I call?

I’m trying not to become overly anxious, but August is coming up and my extension letter will expire.

7/24/2015 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP

7/30/2015 - NOA1 for AOS/EAD/AP

9/21/2015 - still no biometrics appointment...

9/9/2015 - 1st service request (inquiry)

10/6/2015 - 2nd service request (inquiry)

10/16/2015 - EAD/AP APPROVAL via email!!! (approved on 16/10)

Just an update from our end - we did an online request saying the revised 18 moth extension had a typo. We got a pretty standard letter from USCIS last week saying they'll send out a corrected notice soon, but didn't really acknowledge the concern I listed in my request (there's a date range on the revised 18 month extension that the border patrol took as the "extended expiration date", which makes no sense because it'd just be 18 months after the GC date). So I'm thinking we should be good regardless based on the advice given here (bring all extension notices when crossing boarder, use the original 18 month first, if requested, provide the revised versions).

Hi Cat,

What's the old site saying about your status? I'm in the similar situation like you.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too.

It says “...USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.”

I'm in the exactly the same situation... No case update on the new website. Old one says they cannot provide the info. No biometric, neither waiver notification. Just 18 months extension.

When you have a chance, you should call customer service and see what they say. Last time when I called, it was a few months ago, but they said that they could see my status is still on pending.

Also,  as February filers, does "18 months" start off from the date we received the first 12 months extension letter or from the date on our conditional Green Card expiration date? For instance, if your conditional green card was expired on 5/1/2018, would your 18 months extension be over on 11/1/2019?

The 18 month extension is from the greencard expiration date, so your example would be correct.

So everyone especially Starksy who does our table, today I was very excited to get a letter from USCIS, thinking it would be the approval after submitting more evidence after receiving  a RFE in Feb 2019.

But no my wait goes on, they want me to do a  biometrics again ( July 12th)  which I find strange as I already had a letter stating they were reusing my biometrics from before.

Starksky please update table with a new column....lol 😡

I'm confused as well. maybe they are giving me a hard time because when I did AOS I got my green card in 6 weeks.

My appointment is at 8am in Jacksonville,  Florida, and I don't live there I live in Gainesville 1.5 hours away. These people just don't care. we are just a number in a process, we are not human to them.

I don't think it's got anything to do with the original AOS. We also had our biometrics waived (March filers) and got a letter two weeks ago with a biometrics appointment which they conveniently scheduled for right in the middle of the day on our anniversary, an hour away from where we live. We went (romantic, huh?!  lol) because I learned the hard way last time we had our bio's scheduled on my husband's birthday that it just added two months to the process.

We also had the error on the old site and Case Recieved on the new site.  A few hours later it changed on the old site to Fingerprint Review complete so hoping (and waiting and waiting) now. I think attending the biometrics appointment is what triggered the old site to activate our status. Now let's hope it doesn't get stuck there too long!

Good Luck to everyone who is still waiting. This is mind boggling that even Feb 2018 petitioners are still waiting on the first response from USCIS. I'm June 2018 filer and I've been lurking around few different forums. This system really tests the patience of people

I had my N400 interview appointment yesterday while my i751 was still pending. After getting there and doing the routine, the officer called my name. My husband was with me and we had prepared for both i751 and N400 interviews. The officer asked my husband to give her the driving license and asked him to stay in the waiting room and she will call him if needed.

She started by asking about our relationship (how we got to know each other? how many siblings he has? what is his birth day? where have you lived? etc.). She asked for few documents as well (our lease, tax returns, car insurances). After that, she said will move on to the n400 interview. She did the typical questions (application, civic test, and english test). Then we gave me the approval form for citizenship. She said I have to eventually submit my recommendation of approval for your i751 and then N400. Since that will take time, we cannot do the oath ceremony today.

We got home and both of the cases were approved. My oath ceremony is scheduled for july 11th. I hope that I can get my US passport in time so I can travel and visit my family in summer.

Overall experience was very good besides the fact that we are all nervous. The officers were very professional and polite.

Good luck to everyone!
