I am leaving the country tomorrow morning. My case was approved last Friday and the card was mailed on Tuesday.  USPS tracking service says my card was expected to be delivered yesterday Thursday may2, but it was not. Then changed to be delivered today but nothing either. So I will leave the country with the 18months extensión letter, my expired green card and the approval  letter I got on Tuesday since my 10y green card  wasn’t delivered on time. Do you guys think I could get in trouble leaving the country like this since there’s already a green card produced?

Hi Fer00 I believe it its stipulated in the initial letter that once 10 yr gc has been approved you are not to travel until you get the card due to it will cause immigration entry issues. Thats the letter i received before the vard arrived a day after.

You are totally right. I just read the letter. I am going to show up at the airport and talk to the officers before getting on board. They may help me. Otherwise, I would rather stay and lose the money I invested.

Omg, hey guys one question , you got me freaking out! I am in Japan right now for 2 more weeks, I have my expired green card and my 18 months extension letter, but as I checked my case tracker it says my card is being produced but iam not home to get the card. Will I get in trouble reentering?

someone just mentioned we can’t leave once the card is being produced?

I am flipping out right now!

When I left my status said biometric done . And 2 weeks in then I just got card being produced !!

please please is it ok to re-enter? My hubby and 2 kids are Americans i am holding a French passport

I m at the airport now. I talked to an immigration officer for the right thing to do and his response was:  “ what document do you have to re-enter into the country?” I showed the 18m extension letter and he said I was good.. He explained that  what really states in that approval letter is that I  should not leave the country without a valid document  to re-enter. In that letter says that I need to go to the immigration office for the stamp in case of I have to leave the country before getting the card, but  what It doesn’t say is that the extension letter “not expired” can be used as the stamp ... so you are good ... I went to the immigration office at the airport,  all freaked out, and the officer said to me “ Relax, you are good”

I will let you know once I am back

You're good with the extension letter. Worked without a problem for us 2 weeks ago.

Were you already  approved and waiting for green card to be delivered  when used the 18m extension letter to re- enter?

So I have submitted my extra evidence in response to the RFE I received in February this year, it was delivered yesterday to the California Centre.

It consisted of 3-4 years worth of bank statements from me and my spouses bank accounts, all single accounts and joint accounts with certain transactions highlighted to show we share bills.

It was over 4" high when fully completed, I'm hoping that will finally be enough for there comingled finances requirement.

Wish me luck everyone.

Good luck to you. I’m sure it’ll be enough proof.

May i ask you what evidence did you mail in your original ROC packet that was not sufficient so they sent you RFE?

Hi HeartNYC and anybody else who is interested

I sent 3 years of tax return transcripts, (married, filing jointly)

letters showing bank accounts showing accounts names and when they were opened

Car title, home insurance, 4 x affadavits, (which they now called letters on the RFE, stating letters are not considered primary evidence. Even though the people who wrote them stated on oath that they would vouch for our marriage!

life insurance, photographs, utility bills, I thought that would have been enough!

They stated quote

" that the documentation submitted is insufficient because you submitted limited evidence of commingled finances, you submitted bank statements that listed no activity which is not indicative of a primary financial account as well as multiple bank statements that differed in whether the accounts were jointly or not jointly held"

Hope that helps

After you posted your RFE quote, i checked ours. Our RFE says:

”however the documentation submitted is insufficient because it does not establish a marital relationship”

i wonder if this is a common case, or just we got that type of message?

I guess it all depends on the inspecting officer - they want to see every bank statement,  from the beginning of marriage to present day. The same with credit card statements, utility bills, rent/mortgage etc - everything from day 1 to present day... not just the last couple months...

Did they just mail RFE in the mail or is it also updated on their website when checking the case status online?

Good luck to you with RFE. I can imagine it’s frustrating and stressful but once you gather enough paperwork it should go smoothly.
