Greetings guys! I just found my check was cashed this morning (2/26). Given that VSC received my package on 2/15, it is quite a long wait to cash it. lol.

I have not received the NOA yet. I am hoping to see it lying in my mail box when I come home after work.  :jest:

You can add me to the February filings.  Sent our packet out on 2/20, it was delivered to the California site (Laguna Niguel) on 2/23.  So I suppose we will be waiting along with everybody else for NOAs and biometrics.

I have added you to the tracking table, good luck!

Finally an update! I was too nervous to reply until we got our NOA1..... Our expiration date was February 13! I was fool for waiting so long to file and we were almost late

Great news, you won't leave it so long next time, will you? :) Must be a huge relief!

So I just checked processing times at CSC and VSCCSC is backdated almost 18 months (September 2016) and VSC is still a year out (January 2017).  Are these times accurate?  I mean that's a hell of a long time right?  12 months for VSC and 18 months for CSC.  We knew it'd be longer than our I-129F but DAMN that's insane right?

Indeed, that is a tough reality, although it is better than I-129F since at least we can pretty much get on with our lives seamlessly. We aren't "waiting to go somewhere" nor are we away from our spouses. A lot of folks are coming up for Naturalization before they get their approved I-751, so that's another thing to get started on once you become eligible.

Sent our package on Feb. 21 and it was received at the CSC on Feb. 23. Now to wait for the check to show up in our account and for the NOA.

Good luck, I added you to the tracking table.

yay

now waiting for biometrics appointment letter

please I have 1 question,

can I fly to France with the NOA letter and expired green card or do I need a stamp in my passport?

Good news. And yes, you're good to fly on your extension letter and expired green card. There's some useful reading here:

So if I understand correctly... If my I-751 isn't approved by the time I become eligible for citizenship, which lets be honest it probably won't. I could still apply for my citizenship?

That's correct. Your I-751 typically does have to be adjudicated first but it does no harm and is generally recommended by most here to file that (if you wish to) at your earliest opportunity.

Here's some content from USCIS that might be helpful, plus a recent thread below talking about this very topic:

Hi All,

We had just submitted our package I-751 last 2/24/2017 our location Vermont Service Center and already in the post office of St. Albans, VT :) .

It was weird today I checked our mail and their is a letter from USCIS, I was shocked and excited. Kinda felt weird at the same time cause that was fast.I just track our documents this morning just arrived in post office St. Albans,VT. But when i check the name it was under a different name :P and I did google the address seems USCIS issued wrong address cause apparently its not existing in google map. I just let our landlord handle that I felt sorry for that person if that mail was sent wrong address as it seems to be approval for I-751 application.

I pray it will not happen to our case as I had double checked x 7 times review all our documents.

Which service center did you send your I-751 to? So I can add you to the tracking table.

Thanks. I actually borrowed the format from someone else but put it into a Google Sheets file for easier editing. I sent you a link to the file in case you wish to share it with others.

So, USCIS sent you a letter by mistake? Was it named correctly but sent to the wrong address? That's worrying!

I also added you to the tracking table.

At first, I thought it was me cause my 2nd name is Elena and  the girl first name in the letter was Elena too but we have different surname.

I checked how the address "street" spelled in the letter it was wrong cause I check in google map its not existing.

Our package has just arrived to St. Albans,VT today 2pm so its impossible its for me.

I just felt sorry for that girl if indeed it was sent wrong address.

Thank you for adding me in the list

I read some posts from previous months where people had over 3 pounds and a few over 4 pounds of paperwork they sent out.  I definitely felt a little concerned when we only had 2.2 pounds worth.  Since it's all good quality stuff (bought a house, multiple cars, joint accounts, vacations, etc), I think it will be fine.  Just this long wait is going to be a drain.

@ALIENRJ187 we're in the same boat. Also, I was looking at both your AOS and ROC timelines in your signature...we're almost identical. Pretty crazy! lol Hopefully we receive our NOA 1 in the next day or two.

I wrote a full detailed account of our AOS process, timeline, AP use, and interview on my blog. You can read it here.

That's correct. Your I-751 typically does have to be adjudicated first but it does no harm and is generally recommended by most here to file that (if you wish to) at your earliest opportunity.

Here's some content from USCIS that might be helpful, plus a recent thread below talking about this very topic:

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Laws and Regulations/Memoranda/cond_perm_resident_.pdf

I was researching this over the weekend and also saw that people are commonly applying for their citizenship (N-400) 90 days prior to their 3 year green card anniversary date. Do you know the reasoning behind this as well?

It seems like between the pending I-751, "90 day rule," and online N-400 application that there are a lot of variables to consider for us next year. What are your thoughts, @starsky?
