then i am screwed. my wife and i never had joint accounts. we are in the process of a divorce that will not be final before the deadline meaning all the stuff that had both names on it is gone already...title of the car transfered to her name...

during my last move old paperwork got wet and moldy so i threw it away not realizing i might need it later...i do however have beneficiary designation for health and life insurance as well as 401K. Mutual friends of ours are already working on affidavits.

we have been living apart for over a year now so no lease in our names for 2018. she did however visit me in my new apartment with flight itineraries to prove it.

for pictures we don't have many either...both not a big fan of photos of us.

would authorized user on my bank account work for the joint bank account?

Send what you can and explain it with a brief letter (not more than one page) so the officer will be more willing to read it (rather than a longer letter).

I don’t think you can add authorized user to a bank account.  To a credit card, yes, for sure.  Bank account, if you have access to money, you must be joint owner.

Does anyone know if the Affidavits the USCIS requires need to be originals? it does not state anything about being signed. so how would they know that it's not just printouts?

The affidavit must be original:

This is taken directly from the instructions of the form.

“Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people who have known both of you since your conditional residence was granted and have personal knowledge of your marriage and relationship. (Such persons may be required to testify before an immigration officer as to the information contained in the affidavit.) The original affidavit must be submitted and also contain the following information regarding the person making the affidavit: his or her full name and address; date and place of birth; relationship to you or your spouse, if any; and full information and complete details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge. Affidavits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above.”

I would go as far as getting it notarized to confirm the identity of the person signing it.

Hi Everyone,

I filed Feb 2018 and had my biometrics done in July 2018.

After no updates for a year, I got mail today that they need my biometrics again and they already scheduled it.

I visited India in Nov 2018. I guess it is that's why.

What do you guys think?

I heard some of the biometric data centers have technical issues, so my self I might have to do another one soon.

Just an update for all, we called because we haven't received her GC. But it turns out we had the wrong receipt $ (off by one fo one of the digits), so after that, we are still in no-man's land, meaning our only update is "Case was Received", and we got the 18 month extension. No info on biometircs or any of that fun stuff.
