VERMONT FILER HERE TOO, JUST FIND OUT MY CASE WAS TRANSFER TO "mesquite texas" DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

It means USCIS are realizing they're getting backed up and is spreading their loads to different service centers.

Weird, there is no field office / service center for USCIS in Mesquite Texas. I live in Dallas TX and mesquite is only few miles away from Dallas downtown.

They have Center in Mesquite for people in removal proceedings and apparently in Naturalizations?

It is Texas Service Center.  That is not a field office.  Service Centers are not open to the public.

Someone had their case moved to Mesquite who is not a resident of Texas and would not have their case moved to a field office in Texas.

A bunch of VSC filers who have receipt numbers between EAC180875 and EAC180955 (about the first two weeks of worth of February 2018 filers) have been transferred from Texas Service Center.  That is nothing new.  There are five Service Centers around the country, Vermont, California, Nebraska, Texas, and Potomac.

All four (except Potomac) of them  process I-751.  Nebraska and Texas started to receive cases filed at lockbox beginning in late 2018, plus any transferred out from California and Vermont.

One doesn’t have to be a resident in any of the States these Service Centers are located.  That is not a determining factor where your case will be processed.  It was only a factor to determining factor where to file.

The Texas service center is not in mesquite... Maybe go back to the former page and see the post?

I got the same letter. The Texas Service Center PO Box is located in Mesquite, that’s the address listed for mailing additional documentation.

I just moved from Dallas. I know exactly where it is.  The field office where people go for interviews is in Irving, TX — near DFW airport.

The Texas Service Center is located in the City of Dallas, at the boundary of Mesquite, TX (Maybe use Google map to see it).

The mailroom operations is in Mesquite, TX.  Mail is processed by USPS, pick up by a contractor for sorting and packaging before going to the Texas Service Center 3 miles away.

4141 St. Augustine in Dallas is the address and is a couple of miles from Mesquite. So it would make sense they would have a PO Box in Mesquite

Where in Dallas did you live? I live about 5 minutes from the Irving office.

Also, I could have sworn the TSC used to be in Lewisville about 4 years ago when we did our K1

@ch3john - I lived in Uptown Dallas on Travis St, just a mile from West Village, and before that I lived (probably) near where you are living now in Irving.  Now I am in Boston, MA.

They still have an office in one of the old buildings in Lewisville and non-USPS (UPS, FedEx, DHL) deliveries for many Forms still go there.  They also have mail processing contractors in Lewisville.

When did you get your 18m extension? Did you have an interview, was your case transferred or was the only update the approval? Helps for my tracking table to have the dates is why I am asking. Congrats!

Here is a copy of the latest tracking table, folks. We're up to 37% of approvals in California with a further 13% transferred. In Vermont, we can observe that the first 4 cases of those being transferred have trickled in.

@redstripe54 did you receive your RFE yet? Curious if you want to divulge their reasoning because you were adamant that you had provided sufficient evidence?

Got it, thanks!

When did you get your 18m extension? Did you have an interview, was your case transferred or was the only update the approval? Helps for my tracking table to have the dates is why I am asking. Congrats!

Congratulations! And thanks for all the data points. Added to our tracking table!

I got my extension letter on August 2018. I don't remember the exact day.

I don't know if it was transferred or not, because as a matter of fact my online status still says case was received. Lol...
