@ligiam1412 - The proof of legal presence (visa, green card, US citizenship) is only applicable if you need a Real ID.  MA does not require it for a standard ID.

But remember that you may not use a standard ID to get through the airports and Federal facilities (USCIS included) beginning in 2020 (not sure exact timing).

BUT hopefully, by that time you would have already have your 10-year green card, or better yet a US passport.  Then you can return to MA RMV to get a real ID without any issue.

Thank you!!! Phew, standard DL it is!

@redstripe54 What you need is the “tax return transcript.”  Whenever you request one from the IRS, it will have a tracking number on the top right of the form that USCIS can use to verify its authenticity (if they choose to do so).  That tracking number can be used to confirmed that a particular transcript matches your SSN (or your and your spouse’s SSNs)

Thank you very much for that info GBOS

Hi guys, I'm new here and I just want to share my timeline. My I-751(EAC18092xxxxx) was received on 2/9/18 at VSC. I got two notices on 2/13/19 on the new USCIS portal, first one saying my case was transferred to another USCIS office, and then second one saying my case was received at my local office. Haven't got any notice in mail yet. Hopefully this is good news...

Hi everybody!

I usually don’t post anything but noticing that a lot of you guys have questions about the DMV and DL I decided to come in here and explain it.

I work for the MASS RMV and I know all about policies and procedures regarding the standard and real ID.

if you need to renew or if your first time you will need a lawful presence document. In our cases you will need to bring the expired green card and the NOA. At the RMV they will use the alien number and the receipt number on the NOA

All types of ID requiere a lawful presence document. But the difference getting the real and the standard is the other documents you need to get it.

Standar ID:

- Lawful presence document

- 1 proof of address

real ID:

- Lawful presence document

- 2 proof of address

- proof of social security number

https://www.mass.gov/files/documents/2018/09/28/ID Documents Checklist_0918.pdf

If you need to renew or if it’s your first time, the system will issue an ID only for a year. When you get the green card you can go back and renew it to have one for 5 years.

Hey guys,

So I woke up this morning and got another notification, same notification that i received on February 13th but this one is dated February 14th saying:

Your case has been transferred to another USCIS office and that office now has jurisdiction over your case.

Is it possible that is was transferred again? I checked my account and the date was changed to Feb.14th.

January 2018 filer here. I had to renew my DL last year and for some reason my new one doesn’t expire until 2024...there doesn’t seem to be any logic behind it

@Vzla90 - Thank you for the information.  This has changed since I visited RMV in 2016.  Back then, lawful presence document was not required, only identity document, and proof of residential address were required for a standard ID.

did you receive notice via text or email if you were signed up for those alerts OR did you just receive your letter in the mail without any notice?

I was signed up for text and email, however, there was no update "anywhere" - not on the old or new website (I was so out of the loop that there even was a new one) and then I recently found out about a tracker app, and that was pretty useless as no updates there either.

I just got approval in the mail and that's how I found out.

Although the tracker app updated a couple days ago and showed card being mailed. Still showing that even though I already picked it up.

So the updates are definitely behind /nonexistent in my personal experience.

It seems they are focusing more on action to the cases rather than notifications to us.

Hope this helps!

@ligiam1412 - See this post.  I stand corrected.  This gentlemen/lady has the most up to date information on RMV’s requirements.  I understood the new rules incorrectly, so now the proof of lawful presence is required.  And it appears the RMV knows how to deal with an extension letter.

Thank you for letting us know @DreamCatcher77.  I have seen a few other reporting the same.  They just have a piece of mail showing up at home and nothing was ever updated after the case was submitted.

Same happened to me. I honestly think they only transferred it once and keep sending various notifications about it. BTW I also have 2 of each notification (8 in total)
