K 1 Visa Payment Clarification

In regards to the payment for the K1 Visa, I have now seen different responses and not sure which one is the correct one.  In several places it says that in Indonesia, the K1 Visa fee of $265.00 is paid the day of the interview at the embassy but in other places I see that it has to be paid in advance and after payment then you schedule the interview, which one is it?

The correct one is the information that comes directly from the Jakarta Embassy....

We had to pay in advance I believe at CIMB then we were able to make our appointment at the Embassy.

You can do both. Whichever easiest for you. If there's CIMB in your city and you're able to do it then do that. Otherwise, you can do it on the day of your interview. There's a separate window and they only take cash (the IDR equivalent of whatever USD fee is now; there should be a special page with a list of conversion USD-IDR).

Also just to add, in case anything changed since I did my visa application (K-1) in August last year, your BEST source of THE MOST reliable information regarding your petition / application is the US Embassy Jakarta. They're very reliable, efficient and quick to respond. All my emails were responded within 24 hours (sometimes even within the hour). Good Luck!
