Consulate in Melbourne vs Embassy in Sydney Australia

Does anyone know if the US consulate in Melbourne processes fiance visas? Or does it have to be the Embassy in Sydney? Just trying to determine which address to put on the letter of intent for my fiance.

I think only Sydney process fiance visa.

Embassy is in Canberra.  Sydney is a consulate  and the only one that has an IV unit  in order to do a K-1 or CR1

Melbourne does not process K1 or CR1 visas, you'll have to select Sydney.

Also, as an aside, if you are based in Melbourne, don't be like the person I know who booked her flight to arrive the morning of her appointment, because she missed it thanks to flight delays and ended up waiting nearly 6 weeks for another one.

Thanks so much for your help everyone! And for the advice regarding flights. We tried calling the office in Melbourne without success so I appreciate your quick response.

Yes! My now husband and I flew in the day before (I am the USC but was visiting at the time) from Brisbane. Make sure you make travel plans accordingly.
