Have you ever been hospitalized (including psychiatric admission)? - What does this include?

Hi everyone

 

I see this question on the medical examination questionnaire, "Have you ever been hospitalized (including psychiatric admission)?" 

 

Does this mean every time I have ever gone to hospital for something...? Like breaking my wrist when I was a kid, for flu a few years ago, or an allergic reaction that got treated?!! Surely they can't want all that. Do they just mean times where you were actually kept in overnight and given proper treatment for something or underwent a surgery? Do A&E visits matter?

Just when you were actually admitted to hospital, at any point in your life :-)

You're right. They don't want a list of your A&E visits just if you were admitted . I only included the one time I had an operation.

To Americans (who wrote the form) it means spending the night in the hospital.

They just want to know anytime you were admitted (Stayed over night) or if you had any out patient surgeries (Where you didnt stay over night but was being cared for outside of the emergency room)
