Hey guys,

I am so happy to say that my wife visa was approved today. The interview process went very well. I was allowed in with my wife, we went through security then we were given our number and waited about 45 minutes then we were called in to go up to the window for my wife to have her finger print taken and stuff that took about 4-5 minutes. Then we sat back down and waited for about 30 minutes then we were called in for the interview itself. It was a very young  female officer that had interview us and she was very pleasant towards my wife and I. She ask my wife who’s her husband? Then she ask me what is my job position and where I work? Then she asked my wife when the last time she saw me? How we met? When did our relationship began? When we got married? Who was there? She ask my wife what I love to do in the US? If we got engaged? That’s was all she asked then she told us she will be right back and she came back with a pink paper and she said you have been approved of your visa to pick it up on the 15th. The interview from start to finish was only about 5-7 minutes.

I just want to say thank you to everyone here on visa journey. You guys are the best. You all were so willing to help in anyway and my wife and I would like to wish you all the best of luck on getting your visas, and we will still be here to answer any questions try to help in anyway we can. Once again thank you all great people on this forum. Btw my wife will be traveling back to the US with me soon!

Congratulations!!!! :) That is so exciting. When are you going to be coming back to the States?

My wife is still waiting for her visa to come in the mail. We have flights booked for me to fly to Denmark on the 15th and we'll fly back to the US together on the 17th. Luckily the flights can be changed for a small fee if she doesn't receive her visa in the mail in time for me to fly to Copenhagen.

We’re done! My wife’s visa was issued on February 5 according to CEAC. She received it in the mail today, only 4 business days later. I’m flying to her this coming Friday and she’ll be flying home with me Sunday the 17th. POE will be Detroit Airport.

I'm having issues with NVC and my affidavit of support. I was told last week I needed to change my co-sponsor to a household member because I'm his dependent (I'm a full-time student, so my father still claims me on his tax returns). I've since learned that in order to classify someone as a household member, you have to actually live with them (I don't live with my father because I'm living at college) or claim them as a dependent on your own tax returns. So, one NVC person told me I can't classify my father as my co-sponsor because I'm a dependent on his tax returns and another initially told me today to classify him as a co-sponsor, then after hearing the situation, told me to go ahead and put him as a household member. I've done that, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and has any advice?

Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone can help me. Does the priority date mean anything with the NVC? My priority date is February 20th? I still do not have my invoice # and it has been 4 weeks since it was received by the NVC. please help. They keep telling me I need to allow 8 weeks.

hi Brenda, the priority date for this stage doesnt really make a difference. NVC processes in the order they are received. it took a little less than 6 weeks for us to get our invoice # after being approved.

Hey Guys,

I realize each country maybe different.  But any rough ideas would be appreciated. From the date all documents were accepted how long was the interview date? (India)

Thanks,
