Hi everyone, quick question. How long does it normally take for the NVC to approve documents? I submitted all of the documents for the affidavit of support for myself and my co-sponsor on Dec. 15, so close to two months ago. A number of them were approved quickly, then they asked me to submit my W-2s for last year on Jan. 4 and re-submit a document for my co-sponsor because it wasn't aligned properly. Since then, nothing has been approved (including many of the documents I submitted on Dec. 15). Is this normal, or should I contact them?

Hi, We had the same situation. They asked us to re send pay stuff and they did not take any action for over a month after we submit. So i called NVC and explained, and she transferred the message to supervisor. SHe said it could take anywhere from 4 to 6 week for supervisor to review. But it did not take that long, they approved all my documents within one week after she transferred the message to supervisor. so call them and explain.

I sure will give an update on my wife interview. btw I sent in my petition to USCIS on February 20, 2018. It took about 5 and half months to get approved and 4 weeks to arrived at NVC and having the NVC case number. On November 19, 2018 I sent all my documents to NVC after I paid the fees and such on. On December 11 2018 my case was completed, it took little over 3 weeks. on January 9th 2019 I received my interview appointment letter. That’s took little over 3 weeks as well. I would have been done with the NVC stage along time ago but I purposefully delayed the process by a few weeks, in order words I delivered my package to NVC a little late because o didn’t want them to give me an appointment date in 2018 as I wanted to go to the interview with my wife and I didn’t have vacation time from my job. Anyway it all plays out well and my wife got her interview in 3 days.

Oh. Thank you for the information. Good luck to you and your wife. Please let us know how it goes. :).  My case could have been completed around December 14th/2018 as well but they ask us to submit my husband's pay stuff straight that extended our process one month. so we will be having interview in march.

Hey guys my wife went to picked up her medical exam envelope today. Doctor gave her the envelope and told her that everything is okay that her blood and urine test was all good’ however, they told her that on March, 1 they told her she have to go back for a shot called VARICELLA but my wife interview is in 3 days and I know she will be getting her visa way before March first and I was expecting her to travel back to the US with me. Does anyone know if you can take that shot in the US? Or does my wife have to wait after she gets her visa to take that shot and then travel?

anyone who went through the medical process that had the same experience can you please advise.

Thanks for your response in advance!

Does your wife have immunization record from childhood? if she has a record from childhood vaccination then she can go to that panal physican and exaplin that she already received this shot and see that helps.  This vaccine is mandatory, and thats required by USCIS .

Hi yes, my wife does have an immunization record. My wife said that they told her after she gets her visa if she’s still in the country then she can go and get that vaccine on March first if not she can take it in the U.S.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently doing the documents and forms online for the NVC. I did the DS-260 by online form but its asking to SCAN in a copy of the form I-864? I was under the impression that this would be done electronically too however cannot find the electronic option only the 'upload document' option.

Is this normal?

Thank you in advanced and congrats to those who have their visas already! See you on the other side

You have to download the from online first. Once you fill it out you can upload it.

Have you contacted your local office?

Yes I physically went there to see my options and they can't do nothing but suggest to go online and make an appointment which is impossible to do bc they don't offer appointment dates to choose from. I have already submitted 2 status inquiries and my attorney filed one. Response is it's still pending and they have 180 days until decision is made! Coming up on a year now with another possible 6 months not including NVC and interview date! So frustrating and heartbreaking! 😢

Hey guys,

I am so happy to say that my wife visa was approved today. The interview process went very well. I was allowed in with my wife, we went through security then we were given our number and waited about 45 minutes then we were called in to go up to the window for my wife to have her finger print taken and stuff that took about 4-5 minutes. Then we sat back down and waited for about 30 minutes then we were called in for the interview itself. It was a very young  female officer that had interview us and she was very pleasant towards my wife and I. She ask my wife who’s her husband? Then she ask me what is my job position and where I work? Then she asked my wife when the last time she saw me? How we met? When did our relationship began? When we got married? Who was there? She ask my wife what I love to do in the US? If we got engaged? That’s was all she asked then she told us she will be right back and she came back with a pink paper and she said you have been approved of your visa to pick it up on the 15th. The interview from start to finish was only about 5-7 minutes.

I just want to say thank you to everyone here on visa journey. You guys are the best. You all were so willing to help in anyway and my wife and I would like to wish you all the best of luck on getting your visas, and we will still be here to answer any questions try to help in anyway we can. Once again thank you all great people on this forum. Btw my wife will be traveling back to the US with me soon!
