I just put my college address by mistake instead of the address of the place I worked before 10 years.  Education history and previous work history is on the same page. So they could wonder how comes its the same address for college and work. It was not even fancy job at that time. I was student and working as store front at that time.  While I was checking filled DS 260, i realized and I was like how did that happen.  So you think its a problem?  and necessary to inform NVC to change address or I can just mention it if they ask me at interview?

Well, some people actually do go to college and work for the college haha

How will I know when they have sent it or when embassy received it?

Medical has to be done week prior to interview? or it can be done anytime?

You need the interview invitation for the medical. They have to verify that you actually are already scheduled for an interview.

You get an email from the NVC or the embassy may contact you. I can't remember the details.

Good Luck!! 😊

You can always submit a request to expedite your case. Although they only approve cases with valid reasons to expedite.

NVC will send your case to the embassy in your country after they sent you the interview letter. Be sure to keep track of your email for that important interview letter p4.  You can check to see the status of your case here on the nvc.state.gov website. Just login with your case number and invoice ID number and as of now it will say the status of your case is at the NVC and once you received your interview letter and such the status will then changed to your case is at the consulate or embassy in your country.

As for the medical,  it should be scheduled at least 1 to 2 weeks before the interview date. You have to give the doctor time to process your medical results  and either sent it to the embassy or tell you to go pick it back up. That usually takes 3 to 4 days but at some countries it may take up to 14 days. Overall, I would recommend just calling and scheduled your medical appointment as soon as you received your interview letter.

Hi everyone! I have a question, if anyone knows the answer. My wife's interview was earlier this week and they conditionally approved her visa. They asked for another document which she is getting tomorrow and she will overnight mail that to the embassy, so they should receive it on Monday. Does anyone know how quickly they review items required for fully approving the petition and issuing the visa? I am worried they could take weeks to actually look at it even though they'll receive it on Monday, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know?

Class B medical condition: The IO at the point of entry may inform your wife she needs to contact the nearest Public Health Service department within a certain number of days.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Hi everyone.

I had to resubmit some docs to the NVC due to them being unreadable. I did this yesterday morning just fine. But earlier I got an email from the NVC stating 'The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application.'

I logged on yet nothing has changed with my case. They haven't even reviewed my resubmitted documents, as far as I can see.

Has anyone else experienced this or knows what it means?

Thanks

This happened to me as well. I don't know why it happens, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't mean anything. Once they review and accept all your submitted documents on the CEAC, you'll get an email stating that you are documentarily qualified (case complete) and you'll now wait to get your interview date. They requested additional documents from me too, and it took them about 2 weeks to review it, unfortunately. Hopefully they review them faster for you!

An update on our application:

- Wife had interview Tuesday, January 29, 2019. They conditionally approved our application. The one condition they gave us was a revised version of her birth certificate. They asked her to upload the correct birth certificate to the CEAC and mail the original to the Embassy in Stockholm

- Wife mailed the birth certificate and scanned it to CEAC on Friday, February 1.

- This morning we received an email from a consular officer notifying us that they got the scan of the correct birth certificate and reminded us to mail the original to them. I responded and told them the document was mailed on Feb 1 and they should receive it any day now.

- An actual person responded to my email at the Embassy (amazing!) and said thank you for letting us know.

- Our visa status was updated again today. It still says administrative processing, but they must have put in the file that they got the scanned document.

Hopefully they get it in the mail in the next few days and issue her visa right away! Fingers crossed :) It seems like the Embassy runs much smoother and faster than USCIS and NVC.
