hi all, quick question. did anyone use a household member to co-sponsor? my sister is going to be co-sponsoring with me as I am currently unemployed. what types of proof of relationship did you guys use? She is writing a letter as our proof of relationship and signing it, is there anything specific she needs to include in the language?

You could submit both your birth certificates, showing that you are having the same parents, as your proof of relationship.

Hello,

I just discovered this message board and I'm glad to see so many folks who filed their I-130 in February are past NOA1.  My wife and I sent in our I-130 in February and our case was received on February 5th, but we still are stuck on the NOA1 step.  Our processing center is Potomac.  Is anybody else in the same situation?

Thanks!

Yes, I am also waiting on my approval. My priority date is February 20th and my service center is also Potomac. Have you called?

I haven’t called yet. My lawyer has given me the impression that the review process is something of a black box and they likely won’t divulge any specifics on the case, but I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to call and see. I’ll report back if the call turns up anything useful. Thanks for your note!

Your welcome! I thought they processed them in the order they are received. However, people who filed in March, April and May are getting approved. That isn't fair to us who filed in February. Good Luck!

Is anyone in/ or have been in a situation where both the petitioner and the beneficiary reside outside of the US? If yes, how would you/ did you complete the affidavit of support part? Could my wife sponsor me whilst living abroad with me? We intend to relocate to the States the soonest I have my green card completed. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I think she can sponsor you using assets or income that will continue after moving back to the States and if that isn’t an option you will need to find a joint sponsor.
