Yeah, everyone including me was surprised with the incredible speed with which my petition got approved. I did not expedite my case. Can you really expedite your case? I haven't heard of any such provision. Anyway, my service center was Texas. My NOA2 says it may take upto 1 month to hear anything from NVC. I am really impatient now........(I know..my case got approved very quickly from USCIS and now I am expectating to sail through NVC too very quickly.:D)

You’re one of the very lucky ones then! Yes you can expedite, but only for certain circumstances. NVC is speeding up apparently, so hopefully it will be quick for you :)

Hi All,

I have a question. I have filled the petition for my husband, and he lives in India. We have only received NOA1 in March. Yesterday my husband have received a call from his area police station for verification. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced it?

I’m not sure if this is the right thread for this question. I haven't experienced that, or heard of that happening sorry. I would ask your question in the regional forum for India. You will probably get helpful answers in that forum.

Hello everyone,

Joining you guys for journey as February 20 priority date. My service center is Nebraska, it seems it is the slowest one lol, of course my luck. I'll keep everyone up to date if anything changes with my case. Happy to sail with you guys.

Filed I-130 petition through our immigration attorney and they gave us February 21, 2018 priority date at the Nebraska service center! The time seems to be moving so slow and we will also need to file an I-212 once the petition is approved. Looks like at least 2 yrs until my husband can come back to me. Anyone else going through the same process? Good luck to all of us and pray the time speeds up!

Hi,

New to this forum, such a resourceful group of people here. Thank you every one

So I filed the paper work for my wife in January and received the confirmation letter in February.

The I 130 paper work was sent to the Potomac center.

Looking at the site today for the processing time it says 8.5 months to 11 months, and they are processing cases as of July 04 2017, Does that mean my case won't be touched after 8 months or so?.

Reading through the February processing times, some seemed optimistic on getting the application processed to the NVC by August ..

Please advise

Thanks

  1. Estimated time range
    Form type
    Case inquiry date
  2. 8.5 Months to 11 Months

Try going off of the visajourney approval list because I see a lot of people with October and November being approved and they don't frequently update that site either

Well that's exactly what we thought but he seemed very insistent that now we're married and have a pending I-130, they'll deny us purely due to suspicion. He has 35 years experience and seemed very knowledgeable :/ I don't know if it makes a difference that it's an ESTA visa?

I will definitely do some reading because it's broken us all (my daughter is 8 and really missing him) that we could meet in Canada but the flights are so expensive so we're trying to come to terms with going more than a year apart.

Oh it would be so fantastic if we could visit a few times this year like we have every other year! I really hope so! :D

Hey I’m not sure if it’s still useful for you but I’m currently in the US visiting my wife, when I got to the border they took me to a secondary processing room and took my passport. After about 10 mins I was called up and the officer just asked me questions like if i’m gonna live in the US or if my wife is moving to me (obviously they knew I have an I-130 pending they just wanted to see if im honest) they asked if I have a return ticket which I did and had to show him. They asked why we got married (because we’re so young) and asked if I had the I-130 paperwork which I didn’t, I did have documentation to show I still live in the UK like a tenancy agreement and car registration, I told him I have it but I didn’t have to show him then he let me go. All in all it was a minor inconvenience but the officer questioning me was superrr friendly and it wasn’t scary at all. As long as you’re doing everything legit you’ll get in

Hi!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comment. Yes, it's still useful - we're all missing each other.

Congratulations on getting into the US with no problems and visiting your wife. I imagine it was lovely to be reunited, albeit only for a short while. It's certainly good to know there's a chance we could go and that it doesn't effect your ongoing petition.

Again, thanks for that! :)

My PD is 26th Feb 2018 @ TSC , waiting for NOA2 which could be looked at around August or even later on ...  trying to kill time, but the wait can be really difficult :(

Good luck to everyone
