At the port of entry all my wife did was that she went up to one of the Immigration officer sitting there and handed him the yellow sealed envelope with her passport the officer looked at the visa page in the passport then he opened the envelope and he looked at the papers and enter some stuff in his computer. When he finished he told her to go with another officer in a room that other officer ask my wife for her passport he then looked at it and stamp it my wife asked him if she was okay to go and he said yes you’re good. That’s all. 2 and half weeks later my wife SSN showed up in the mail. The officers never told my wife anything of how she will get her green card but I know they will send it in the mail too usually In a couple of months. I went online and paid the green card fee of $220 so now my wife wait for that. It said on USCIS website it takes 120 days. Anyway, the port of entry is a very easy simple quick process. Just have your passport with yellow envelope sealed and everything will be smooth and quick. No need to worry about that phrase of this whole process.

Thanks for the information. But i read it somewhere it takes time to process if there is a line up or something and they did not give send us any sealed envelop they gave a letter saying its electronic. so just need to present passport. but do they ask any question at all? like general name, DOB or something? like they usually do when you are entering USA on visitor or some toher visas?

Is anyone else having more problems than usual contacting NVC? The "submit documents" button on the site isn't working for me, despite the fact that I've definitely uploaded all of the necessary documents, so I'm trying to call to get them to fix it. I sent an email, but the last time I did that, they didn't even answer my question, just copied and pasted from the website. I managed to talk to someone a week ago who said he didn't know what the problem was and to call back later. This week, every single time I call (during pretty much every time of day) I get the "we have too many calls right now,  please call again later" message and it doesn't even let me go on hold. It's so frustrating because if it weren't for problems with NVC messing up my co-sponsor's documents a few months ago, my husband would probably be here already!!!

Good afternoon, I had trouble and was trying to submit the documents. I came completely out and logged back in and then it worked. When you call the NVC and get that message hang up and call right back and you will get through. Good luck!

No but from what im reading around, it takes about 1-2 months! And then the interview is normally within the month of the date notice. I think London has their **** together so it hopefully wont be too long. Let me know if you get yours :)

I really hope it doesn’t take too long. I could have sworn there was a couple on here a few months ago that got their interview date two weeks after their case was complete and the interview was only two weeks later. I’m crossing my fingers for London to have their **** together!

Can I apply for tourist visa while my petition 130  is pending now ?

According to your VJ profile u r at NVC stage...u can apply anytime tourist visa but they will know your approved petition is at NVC and may ask questions about why u need tourist visa when u can just wait and go for IV interview...so I suggest u wait and go consular route rather then spending money on tourist visa...cuz most likely they Will deny u and it may come back to hunt u later...that’s my opinion...I may be Wrong

Hi all. Is my husband supposed to pay the $220 visa/greencard fee after his approved interview or after entry in the US?? On the approval letter the CO gave my husband on the day of the interview said to pay online, just curious when? And if this effects how long they issue the visa?

He can pay before leaving Egypt or He can pay after arrival in the US. If he pays before leaving, he will get his green card a few weeks later. He doesn't pay before coming to the US, he will get a letter in the US to pay before they issue his green card.

Hi, just pay it after you arrived in the US. that’s what I did for my wife. After she came 2 days later I went online and pay the fee and she got her green card in a month and few days. This was recently, last month only. Also, the interview officer never told my wife to pay the fee or give her instructions nor did the officer at the port of entry. But I just went online and pay the fee and my wife got her GC. If I didn’t pay it they would have sent a instructions letter but it’s best to go ahead anyway and pay it to speed up the process. No need to wait  Hope that helps
