Netherlands Certificate of Conduct

Hi,

I received an email from the NVC in Portland, ME that they are missing my Certificate of Conduct from The Netherlands. I know I have submitted it so I'm a little lost as to why the NVC now claims that they didn't receive it. From websearches it seems that some US embassies will apply for the Certificate of Conduct, at least the US embassy in The Netherlands. I'm based in Singapore, which is also where I will have my interview.

Does anyone here have any experience as to how to handle this? Do I request a new Certificate of Conduct in The Netherlands and ask them to send it directly to the NVC in Portland, ME? What are the risks associated with this? How to ensure the new set of CoCs won't get lost at the NVC?

I look forward to learning how other people dealt with this.

Thanks!

Peter

I had the same problem. I guess they just ignored it at first because they didn't notice the English translation at the bottom. I was doing electronic processing at NVC, so just sent them another scanned copy of the VOG with a brief cover note explaining that the document is bi-lingual. There's no need to have it sent directly from NL to NVC.

Thanks Broppy. I think I will spend some time later today calling the NVC in Portland, ME. Hopefully we can resolve it.

I don't think the issue was that the document needs to be translated. It seems from other websources and a fellow forum member from Sweded who experienced the same, that the NVC expects the Dutch CoC to be sent directly to the NVC or embassy of interview. However, that is not clearly stated on the website where any directions are given. So far the NVC has accepted all CoCs from other countries we submitted...

Just to share an update...

I called the NVC and was informed that the message stating a "missing document" was meant as a reminder that we need to bring the original document to the embassy interview. I was also informed that our case had been marked as complete and that the NVC was now working with the embassy to schedule the interview.
