You can certainly call NVC to inquire......

I got my approval January 2nd, so it's been over 4 weeks. How do I find out my case number to move onto booking my interview? Would I need to ring the NVC or USCIS?

THANKS

Hey! So first of all, I have all my K1 info in my bio (in case you want to check out how long it took for me in every step). I believe once my NOA2 got approved, they sent it to the NVC. We called after a week to ask about the number and they gave it to my husband and not long after, the package was on its way to my country.

Once it arrived to Spain (in my case) the embassy contacted me via email and sent me a copy of the same letter I would be getting on the next days. The letter was pretty much saying that I had to set a date for my interview, pay for the visa (online) and set a date (before the interview) to attend my medical.

Pretty much that same day I paid the visa, put all the docs together, called the medical to get a date and sent the package to the embassy. Two days or 3 later I got my Package 4 (i think that's how it was named) saying everything was fine and ready to attend the interview.

On the next days, this is what happened:

1. Went back to get my medical results. In my case, because my interview at the embassy was late, I got to the doctor early and they gave me the results. Make sure to have the paper that shows that you got ALL the shots needed in the US! You will need this paper later on when filing for the AOS.

2. I attended the interview at the embassy. You can check out what they asked me.

If you want to have an idea of what papers they asked me for, let me know. It might be a little different because it is another country but since we are close enough, I would say it won't be that much of a difference.

Good luck!!

These are you London instructions https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Read all the links, especially the medical requirements so you can get needed things from your GP prior to rushing off to you medical. Many people are delayed waiting on NHS to provide shot records and health summaries.

Ask your questions in the UK FORUM because each embassy is different in their procedures, as well as the visa medical clinics. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/ You want London information.

TIP: Get your immunizations completed BEFORE your medical, even though they aren't required for the visa. You'll have to pay another approved doctor in the US to sign off if you wait. Many want to make you do a new full exam even though a K1 does not have to. Huge hassle and expense to those that wait.
