Very sad.

"The loss of life at the hands of illegal immigrant criminals should make all Hoosiers sad and ultimately angry," Rep. Todd Rokita, R-Ind., said in a statement. "We must do more to get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off of our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all."

He'd still be a criminal if he wasn't an illegal immigrant though. Driving without a license, and driving drunk are both things that plenty of citizens do. It is horrible no matter where the person comes from. I think we need to do more to get ALL drunk drivers off the street. We need to ensure this never happens again with ANY drunk driver...not just avoiding the drunk driving accidents that involve illegal immigrants...

Twice deported illegal immigrant driving with a fake driver's license. I'm sure some are going to come on here and tell us Americans drive drunk too though.

Of course we will, because that is still relevant.

He was a criminal for driving drunk, regardless of his immigration history. We need to do more to get ALL drunk drivers off the street. We shouldn't just focus on the illegal immigrant drunk drivers.

We shouldn't have to focus on them driving drunk because they shouldn't be here in the first place. It's not surprising though. Latino immigrants disproportionately account for DUIs. It's actually a macho thing to do in Mexico.

Well some, I assume, are good people.

True, but at least ALL are entitled to be here. We have enough problems with our own drunks. We shouldn't have to be dealing with another country's.

Congrats, sadly you were not wrong.

I agree with you there.

But I do also find it sad that the article focuses almost entirely on the fact that he is an illegal. As if getting rid of illegal immigrants would solve drunk driving.

The core of the problem here wasn't his immigration status. It was his drunk driving.

Google Proximate Cause.

Yes and what do you think would be the core cause for this death?

If he was an illegal immigrant not driving drunk, the two men would likely be alive.

If he was a legal immigrant/citizen driving drunk, the two men would likely still be dead.

Unless you care to argue immigration status makes you a better/worse driver when you are three times above the legal limit.

Seems Google is not working?

Care to elaborate instead of trying to be condescendingly vague?

I understand the concept of necessary versus sufficient. It's used in science all the time.

What is your point, or move along.

Are you just making generalizations, or voicing your support of this illegal, drunk murderer?

I believe he was talking about drunk driving American citizens.
