Hi everyone i need help as i've been reading a lot about marrying my US citizen boyfriend.

So apparently, we would like to marry outside of my homeland because my parents disapproved our marriage/relationship due to religious issues and im in a country where to qualify for legal marriage a muslim have to get married with a muslim meaning an interfaith marriage could not be done.

We also have considered applying for fiancee visa but it is hard because i cannot let my parents find out about it or they will block us from seeing each other (i have really strict parents)

My question is, will getting married outside my country (which is not a place of my citizenship) be a problem when we file for the CR-1 visa?  We considered getting married in U.S.  as i have tourist visa but i read it being a visa fraud to get married on tourist visa. Please help us as i really need clarification regarding this.

In Islamic countries such as ours you would not be approved a K1 financee visa as a muslim woman can not marry a nonmuslim man, this is known by all embassy staff

and you would be asked if your family approved and you can not lie in interview to immigration

would he be willing to convert?

Are you able to meet in a nonmuslim country and marry?

Is there a nonmuslim country you could marry and stay in and dointerview there? (need criminal investigation from home country if you do this so get it before you leave

I doubt you can get a tourist visa and visit bf here / they would assume you intend to immigrate

write to me a personal note and we can together explore any other venues to help you as i have whats app and we can talk

incha allah

You can marry in any country where you are able to meet the requirements for getting married. Not a problem. You can also marry in the US... entering with a visitor visa and marrying is not fraud, only entering with the intention to marry and stay to adjust status is visa fraud. If you marry in the US you then return to your home country while the spouse visa is processing and you have your interview in your home country ... reading about the issues you face , will you be safe if this happens?

If i were to get married in the US on tourist visa,  would i need to state my intention of getting married when im at the Port of Entry when they ask about my reason for coming?  Or should i just state that im visiting/having holiday?

We decided to marry first in order to have no one being able to stop us being together considering my family will do anything to stop us if they find out im on fiancé visa. They currently stopped me from going to the U.S. for the first time to meet my boyfriend this month so we thought it might not be a good idea to go with fiance visa as it's very easy for us to get busted. And we couldn't find any other way to be together legally in the States.

you can not come on tourist visa with intent to marry

OP, the above post left out an important point.  What is not allowed is using a tourist visa intending to stay and adjust.  It's fine to come with intent to get married as long as you go home before your period of authorized stay expires.

You can get married in either country. When you go to his country to marry him, make sure you have proof that you are not trying to stay, such as a return flight. You will have to go back to your own country after you get married. You will, however, be able to visit him without any issues. It is visa fraud if you visit on a tourist visa and get married,  and try to adjust your status. But, like I said, if you go in as a visitor and get married, you need to leave. (I don't know anything about Muslim marriages, so I can't help you with that part. Sorry). Best of luck. I married my husband in his country (USA) and then I left. I visit him often.
