The time definitely took a toll.  With him being as far away as he is, frequent travel was not an option.  When you are living separtate lives so far apart, makes it real real tough.

It really does. I'm sorry but I am sure happiness is a place you will encounter soon enough. Always believe!

Hey,

anyone able to decipher the below message for me?

I asked the us embassy via their contact email form if I could Retain my passport at interview and then submit my passport after in order to get my visa (just trying to work around currently planned work travel dates and having my passport)

this was their response:

At your interview, you may request the return of your passport if you wish to. However, if you submit your passport for visa issuance at a later date, you must allow additional time - at least seven to ten working days - for the application to be processed.  Furthermore, you should expect the visa application to be refused under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) pending submission of the passport

any ideas guys? Sounds ok at first and then very not ok!?!!

B x

You have two options. Retain your passport and receive a 221(g) RFE and then when you conclude your travel return and have your visa placed in your passport is what the reply above states. But, let's think as tho we are a CO adjudicating this case. You go through all the trouble of getting your visa with an interview and then you go on what you call a business trip but I am not going to be responsible for giving you a passport with a visa without review your travel and frankly I don't have a lot of time as I have hundreds of cases passing over my desk everyday. Mmmmm.

Second options. This is what I recommend you do. Go on your business trips before scheduling your interview. You have one year to schedule your interview so there is no hurry. Once you return then schedule the interview and bring the passport with you along with all your other documents. You should not bring up that you have been out of the country unless the CO ask you. There is nothing that requires you to advise of travel unless they ask. Just my opinion.

Hello everyone!

As we are talking about flights..I am a February filer, NOA2 should be around the first week of September. I'd like my POE to be on the first week of December, that gives me more or less 3 months to have my VISA after NOA2. I was considering buying my flight as soon as I schedule my interview, would you dare doing that or am I risking too much?

Thanks!!

It's not recommend by any Embassy.

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of property, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a single-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions.

Sad to have come this far and have my foreign fiance terminate the relationship. I'm crushed, good luck to the rest of you, your NOA2 should be coming soon we all hope!

I am so sorry to hear this! Is this a definite break-up or do you think you guys might be able to still fix this?

It is true, time takes its toll on our relationship as well and there are days when I just want to have a "normal" relationship, right here where I live and not having to go trough all this. On those days I am not sure if I can make it through another who-knows-how-many months. Maybe this is what is going through his mind also? I have to remind myself that he is definitely worth it, that he makes me happy, that I would be way less happy without him, etc. Maybe this is something your fiancé needs/needed more? I'm sorry if I am completely wrong, just know that if you need to vent, people are here to listen and support!

I know i need to get police records/medical history, but in terms of other stuff to get together, all we really need is more evidence of our relationship in case they ask at embassy right?
