Thanks for the comment TB,

Let me go more in depth. The cheapest and quickest flights route to NYC/JFK from Manila, if your destination is the eastern U.S. I have looked at LAX, DFW, SFO, and ATL as Points of Entry but they all seem to not be cost effective or time effective.

I have attached a pic from google flights web site. Random dates to Newark.

1 thing I can tell u is this. Flying mid week is cheaper. And tbh 836 for round trip flight is pretty good price. Since u wouldn't need the return leg of the flight, just call and cancel that portion of the flight.

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Thanks BJ and C,

I have researched so many POE and legs options and I still keep finding JFK as the best option for POE. Airlines such as PAL, China Airlines, Cathay, EVA, and others offer many flexible date and destination options with minimal layovers. PAL even offers nonstop flights to JFK from MNL. But you never know. A flight could pop up anytime that works better so we will see how it all plays out. I appreciate everyones input.:D

The only problem with this one is that because the two legs are separate tickets, if you get held up at POE due to secondary or any other delays, you might not be able to get a refund on the second leg if you miss the flight. So if you do do this, ensure that you have plenty of time to make the connection, factoring unforeseen delays in immigration, customs, and security.

That is a consideration. I suggest at least a 4 hour layover if this will be the POE. Also, having flight insurance can help in a delayed flight. Your right nothing is for sure.

Those are GREAT prices. I just booked my wife from RDU to MNL and it was $1,300. I hope those rates are around when you need to book your flight. I have found that It's cheaper to fly to MNL then it is to fly from MNL especially on PAL.

My fiancee will be flying into JFK from Manchester and then to RDU (:

We are hoping to book the first flight we can after we receive the K1 - prices seem around $1,100

So expensive !!

FYI if flying from England to the states try faregeek. My fiancé booked her up coming fligh for £445. They r by far the cheapest we have found. She's used them every time coming here. Flights from Man to USA either go thru Frankfurt or Newark using united airlines.

Hello everyone!

As we are talking about flights..I am a February filer, NOA2 should be around the first week of September. I'd like my POE to be on the first week of December, that gives me more or less 3 months to have my VISA after NOA2. I was considering buying my flight as soon as I schedule my interview, would you dare doing that or am I risking too much?

Thanks!!

It is risky. If you really want to do that, think about travel insurance. Personally I wouldnt do that.

I'll be using air miles so for me it's not a big deal at all. I don't have to plan on any date. When she's ready I'll book the flight.

Will the immigration officer be suspicious if he has a return flight? Or vise versa?
