9 weeks from now we could all be with our future husbands/wives 😱🙏🌼

Time is a wierd illusion. Sounds long in theory, but is quite short in reality.

Really can't wait to hug my fiancé to bits . My bestfriend and my universe.

That's the attitude!
The worst is behind y'all (in terms of waiting) for that visa!
And once your fiance is here- I promise y'all, the waiting won't even seem to have mattered!

AOS is another waiting tho

Lol! But the AOS thing really sounds like a fuzzy thing to me like a "we'll cross that bridge when we get there" because the main objective of marrying and living with the partner will have been achieved. 😁

Lol-
Cross that bridge indeed.

But I brought up AOS to remind people that immigration is a WORLDDDDD of waiting. Don't drive yourself crazy at the beginning stage. I think the K1 process builds up the patience for us. It's important. Focus on what matters and it is A-okay!

Ookay ... Well I guess I need to research the AOS process because I never really focused on it because it sounded more like a necessary piece of admin that will happen in the background , rather than a physical restraint like being continents away from my significant other .

I was just thinking, in the beginning, how long the wait was, til I realized today that it's been 5 months already! We got this!! I've been to see him 4 times since filing, so I'm hoping my next visit is when I'll attend his interview! I love this VJ community, it really helps with the stress, knowing so many other people are in the same boat. Let's cross our fingers that our approvals start rolling in soon! :)

Wow! How long does the ead/ AOS take ? 3 years or 6 months? Lol I'm the foreign fiancé and told my parents I won't be able to come back to South Africa for 3 years because the US government will think I'm not loyal to the country, so they will be the ones who can come visit me and my fiancé in the US

From what I seen it’s taking about 9 to 12 months

What y'all are talking about is AP- advance parole. Ability to leave the country whilst AOS (Adjustment of Status) is pending
EAD = Employment Authorization, i.e. ability to work whilst AOS is pending.

EAD/AP is usually on the same card (if you file for them at the same time) and their processing time is about 6 months right now . Which means once you come into the country and marry your fiance AND then file AOS, you cannot work until you get that EAD or Leave the country until you get AP.

AOS itself (which is your Green Card) is an AVERAGE of 12-16 months- but a few lucky people are moving quickly and getting them at like 5 months even BEFORE they get their EAD/AP
