Why do you need local office?

go to uscis website and check your status it will show you the received date. All k1 goes to California service center by the way not to a local office.

Thanks, I know it all goes to California, but some people have info about their local office (for us it would be Chicago or Detroit), and I was wondering what does it mean.

Hmm for k1 itself usually means nothing..

some people mistakenly put that info though..

if its anything else, then I'm also interested.

They cash it first, and send the notification later. You should be getting it very soon.

Ooo I get it now.

So the official NOA1 date is the date they receieved our petition?

The date we talk here in other topics about. Like which date they reached etc. is the received date.

However noa is a "notice" so the receipt date would be notice date.

They actually did the opposite on mine, they deposited the check after I received the notification. Also did you fill out the G-1145? If you didn't that may be another reason you didn't receive the message that they got it.

Ohh, sorry then.

Either way, it's a good sign- they got your petition.

Hello everyone!

So happy to find an online community on the K1. We sent our package off yesterday (13th Feb). Wishing you all good luck and patience on this journey!

From what I have been reading, Feb filers should be expecting N02 around September, is that correct? Guess I shouldn't get ahead of myself seeing as we haven't got N01 yet!

Welcome! December 22 filer here, but I kinda flutter around all the topics.

I think September is a fair guestimate, but like you said, don't get ahead of yourself. USCIS is notorious for being unreliable. Things are looking like they are speeding up a bit. If you want to follow how approvals are going you should check out the July/August threads as they are booming! On an upnote, its really uplifting to see all those NOA-2's come in.

Once you have your NOA-1 you can fill out your VisaJourney Timeline. It has an estimated date of approval that is linked to all other visa timelines on this site. It's pretty accurate as we have about 10% of all visa applications (please correct me if I'm wrong). Updating your timeline also helps us to keep track of what the applications are doing. So you're really doing yourself and us a favor.

Awesome. I will definitely fill it and update the timeline if/when I get the NOA-1.

Thank you very much for the information! I will have a look at the July/Aug threads for sure. Best of luck on your journey. :)
