IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

I see hes from England also. He won’t need to prove hes never been married. My fiance is also from England. She's not going to get police cert until we get noa2. Since it only takes 10 days to get. Probably won't get medical for a month after u receive NVC case number. Normally takes about 10 days to get nvc number.

Main important things are :

-Police Clearance Certificate

-Marriage Clearance Certificate/Document stating the foreign fiancé is free to marry

-Birth Certificate

-Valid passport

-Evidence of a bona fide relationship such as pictures, flight and accommodation records, phone call and chat records , etc

- and what else am I missing?  Anyone

Else can add on this, but these listed here are important basics. 😊

Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. You (and any eligible children applying for K-2 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your interview.

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
  • Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen sponsor
  • Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
  • Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
  • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)
  • Two (2) 2x2 photographs. See the required photo format explained in Photograph Requirements
  • Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e)
  • Payment of fees, as explained below

Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

These are only the basic items. Please check with your Embassy Instructions for further requirements. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html

Hey everyone, here's to a new week and further hope for January NOA2s coming through.

I have a question for the group!

Anyone started shipping things over yet? Taking things over each time they travel? I've managed to mule a fair bit, but I still have heavy, outsized and fragile items left.

I have a shipping contact that will probably be able to take all of my items, however in case it doesn't work out, if anyone has considered or has a shipment recommendation I would be interested!

I also need to buy boxes for packing, anyone have any tips for good or cheap boxes? I'm going to start with winter clothes and things like books / vases / kitchen items :)

It's exciting to do something proactive towards the move while we wait.

Aww, what a ray of sunshine you are.. it's good to keep positive and proactive during the wait.

I won't be moving any furniture , I will be going as myself with a few clothes and a toothbrush !  I'm 23 ,and my American fiancé is 26 so I'll just be moving in with him and redecorate the place to OUR liking. Lol but good luck with the shipping of heavy items, I hope they don't cost a ridiculous amount.

I have been using parcel hero as a comparison for sending boxes over, prices are usually fairly good but if anyone has any other recommendations that'd be good.

I've not shipped anything over yet, but I finally completed the sale of my house last week which has been a bit of a nightmare so thats one huge thing ticked off my list. I was starting to worry we'd receive NOA2 before I managed to sell the house and then I'd be stuck but it's all worked out :)

NOA1: February 13th

NOA2: September 4th

NVC case # assigned: September 21st

Ahh thanks! I am trying, I do think we are nearly there.

Yes not too much stuff really, it's just not ideal to try and pack books and vases and kitchen serveware in my suitcases lol so I think I am forced to ship them! I am much older than you so do have pieces that I need to take haha.

You just reminded me, and I trawled my internet history and realised I have looked up this website before https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/ How does that compare with Parcel Hero?

I have a large mirror I really want to send. Is that ridiculous?? Haha

I'm not sure, I'll have a look when I next send something over. I'd imagine the mirror will be pricey, I have a big canvas I'd like to send but haven't yet because it is expensive.

My fiancé has brought stuff each time. When she comes in aug will pay the 70£ for extra bag then. WE got a quote from PSS removals for just over 1k£ for 125 sq ft. Which is 4’x4‘X8’

I've moved back in with my parents until I make the big move to New York, until then I'm gonna save hard and hope time passes quickly!

Ideally I'm gonna try and go light when I move (pretty much just my clothes and a few other personal effects) but we'll see how that goes cos I know when it comes to moving I'll get all sentimental and want to take everything with me :D
