Yes! Definitely feel like a corner was turned when we hit day 100 last Saturday.

I am fortunate - I visited my fiancée in April for about 9 days and will be going again in mid-July for 10 days.

Being able to see each other every couple months has certainly made this process much easier. It gives us something positive to focus on, plan, and look forward to other than our petition.

Hey there!  I haven't seen my fiance since the end of December.  Our packet was received 2/29.  What do you all do to keep phone conversations etc up beat an not stagnant with the typical how was your day, good just busy with work etc...

Yes, so helpful thank you. So is your POE just the airport you are most likely to fly into? Does it matter? I'm in Philly, so I'm assuming it will be Philly? That's where he flies into (in fact he just flew home today...wahhhh).

Correct. It doesn’t matter which airport you fly into, no. Yes, in your case it would be Philadelphia as this is an airport that has international arrivals and therefore border/passport checks (to put it in simple words).

I did start looking at the paperwork after NOA2 this weekend. Thank you. Doesn't look too bad. He has the birth certificate and divorce certificate. Needs the police certificate, which I guess he can get now (says 12 months) and then has to have it translated into English (why?? so weird). He has no vaccine records although has them all, so will have to get them all again I guess (is that what you're doing?). And then I will have to complete the I-864 but that doesn't look too bad. I see why people start doing this ahead of time! I'll save this fun stuff for July lol.

Yes, the German police certificate is valid for quite a while. I don’t know if it’s 12 months off the top of my head, but you can check this out on the Frankfurt German Consulate website. They have a guide for the fiancé visa that will let you know which documents you need and also how old they can be (police certificate, passport style pictures and medical for example). What you will also find there, is the information that German or English documents are accepted and do not need to be translated. That said, tell your fiancé to get an international birth certificate (he can get it from the city he lives in or was born in, I‘m not sure right now). He will most likely need it at different times and it doesn’t hurt to have one, as it will be in German AND English.

In terms of checking for the case, the instructions for creating an account for the new website say  to create an account if you want to:

---File an application, petition, or request online

---Access information about your case and you received either a Case Passcode from your attorney or accredited representative or an Account Acceptance Notice from USCIS

I don't have a passcode or an account acceptance notice from USCIS. So do I not do this?

Yes, you do this as you want to access information about your case. Use the receipt number from the NOA1.

When I go to the old site and put in the receipt number it just says my case was received on February 13th. Am I missing something?

No, this is your current status and it is going to stay this way for a while, as you are waiting for the NOA2 (or a RFE - Request for Evidence).

I did check the German consulate page on your previous suggestion. It sounds like the police certificate needs to be translated into English. His birth certificate is from Ireland so no translation there I guess.

I will register on the new site. Thanks for all the info. I hope the medical part is not too hard to schedule. They only have like five doctors you can see!

The police certificate does not need to be translated, unless it has  any entries - then yes.

Since you mentioned that his birth certificate is from Ireland: in case he has lived there for more than 6 months after the age of 16 he will need a police certificate from Ireland as well.

Where does he live in Germany? If it is somewhere around the Frankfurt area, the panel physicians there offer walk-ins three days a week, no appointment needed.

It is hard sometimes, quite frankly sometimes we just don't have anything to say because it was just another busy day at work and nothing noteworthy happened. Normal couples can sit on the couch silently and watch a movie together on days like that. My fiancé and I just tell each other that we have not much else to say. Instead of hour-long videochats, we sometimes do two or three short ones during the day, which are more like "I just wanted to see your face real quick, but I need to get groceries now, see you later?" We have an 8 hour time difference, so when he gets up and ready for work, I'm busy at my office and by the time I go to bed, he is still working. We try to do the longer conversations on the weekends, that way it doesn't get awkward when you don't have much to say during the week. We send each other lots of whatsapp messages throughout the day. I'm 42 years old, so I'm way beyond the stage where I'm thinking that you have to be in touch 24/7. He has a life, I have a life and when we will be living our life together, we have enough time to talk (or choose not to talk and just be quiet with each other).

Lol. I'm 34 and my fiancé is 44. We still need to be in touch 24/7. It's like puberty all over again.

We message all day long. Just little things. "My coworker just went on break so I need to go down to depot to get this." and "I'm getting a cup of coffee, you want one?" (yes, we actually get coffee together)

We also call whenever we can. When he gets up in the morning its my lunchbreak so I call him on the way to work. Its our daily routine and its so very comforting. His suppertime is around my bedtime so we call when he is cooking. I love hearing him joke around with the kids. There's also plenty of times that we just don't say anything. We have comfortable silences. He'll be catching up his checkbook for example and I'll be doing the dishes. Every minute or something one of us will comment "damn this plate is dirty, what did I eat?" or "I'm missing 13 dollar 25, why..."

I also heard about people watching a movie together. They'd put on Netflix and start the movie at the same time while on the phone.

That's vj guesstimate on where there processing ATM. Based off of who's filled out there timelines. Don't hold ur breath on it. U have to go buy uscis for purposes of what's date they r currently processing.

Yes, but that is the VSC center, not the CSC center where most cases get handled. VSC only handles really difficult cases like people with criminal records ect. Trust me, you dont want your case to go there.

It's sometimes hard for us during the week to have a proper phone conversation, our time difference is 5 hours so when it's time for him to leave work I'm usually already in bed. We message eachother throughout the day during the week, then at weekends we spend as much time video calling (Google Duo) as we can. It sucks sometimes though when we both have weekend plans and don't get much video time in. If we both have a free day though we watch things on Netflix together; we'll get a video call going and then press play on the movie at the same time. We've gotten quite inventive now we're used to long distance!

I just came to realize that my application will probably be denied. My fiance’s mother has two different names as most families in South Africa do. One is on his birth certificate and unknowingly I put the other one on our petition not knowing they did not match. He also does not know his father and has never met him before and never knew his name until he got his birth certificate so when we applied i put unknown for his father

Sounds like it will trigger an RFE to clarify the confusion... not sure why you think it would be a denial...

They don’t have a copy of his birth certificate so I think it will be a denial at the interview stage
