Hey guys, I'm thinking about visiting my fiance in July, as I have vacation days to use. I know many of you have left the country to visit your partners in the US, but I'm still low key a bit scared. I'd be flying from Vancouver, Canada -> San Francisco. Have any of you been scrutinized while travelling to the US before? I spent a lot of time in SF last year, but I haven't been down there for 6 months now. LOL sorry if this topic was already covered in threads prior...

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

Hey,

I have visited twice since leaving in january, and the last time I flew from Brazil. Have had no weird questions or challenges, super normal smooth border control process everytime.

I will likely also go in September and am not worried about this either. So long as you are planning on leaving when you say you will and don’t raise any suspicious that you wouldn’t,  there shouldn’t be any issues as it is totally legal to visit as a tourist.

Best thing to do is have evidence that you will return to Canada. When I drove across the border during the K-1 process I took a letter from my employer and the noa1 for K1. Also rental leases work. The guy asked me for evidence and I gave him that he said do you rent and I said yes but no lease as its my Mum. He said oh and I said you can call her she is at work. He said no troubles and let me through. lol Also a return ticket. I was flying out from North Dakota to Colorado as it was cheaper than flying from Manitoba to Colorado lol

There have been a handful of December cases approved today kicking off the beginning of approvals for a new month. Hopefully just two short months and we should start seeing some action ourselves!

Yeah, they've finally started the Dec cases! That means two more months for us

I am the beneficiary from India and Our Petition k1-129 f for fiance received on 5th Feb and waiting for approval. As per my review in the last forums. December filers are getting approved this month that means we can think of our approvals in August 1st week. Right? Please let me know if any points to be considered for the interview. And is it good if my fiance can come along for the interview once application is approved.

As for approval, Early August would be good. As I’m a Feb 2nd flyer. My vj time line says between Aug 11th and Aug 18th. I’m not panicking or concerned of when it all goes down. Once it gets closer can’t say it be the same.

Looks like my timeline date on this site just got pushed back a week. Was the third week of August now it's saying Aug into September. Not what I wanted to see this morning when I am feeling so sad today about being so far apart. Sometimes I wake up and wonder why on earth I would fall in love with someone 5000 miles away. It's horrible at times!

The speculation is that the shift backwards in VJ estimated time to approval is due to the USCIS moving to a new system. Don’t let this change in estimates get you down. It is ONLY an estimate.

A real sign that things are moving forward is that early December filers started to get NOA2s this past week.

02/06/18 - Sent I-129F Package to Texas Lockbox

02/08/18 - USCIS received package

02/14/18 - Notification of NOA1 (Text and Email)

02/20/18 - Hard copy of NOA1

08/17/18 - NOA2 Notification (email & website)

08/20/18 - Hard copy NOA2 received

09/04/18 -  Case received at NVC

09/05/18 -  NVC Case number assigned

09/20/18 - Embassy Received Case “Ready”

10/01/18 - Medical Exam Appointment

10/03/18 - Interview Appointment - Approved pending Medical Exam test results

12/14/18 - Visa Received

12/24/18 - POE to USA (Detroit)

03/03/19 - Wedding!

With there being between 30% to 50% silent noa2. The vj time line is no where near accurate. Plus, people don’t update there timelines which is the biggest reason for throwing approx times off.

November 2017 filer here, just a word of advice make sure if anyone has any divorce documents to send ALL the pages of you divorce decrees. I got an RFE last week stating they needed ALL the pages as there were a lot.  So the mistake many are making is just sending a few pages and then the judges signature dissolving the marriage so just a word of advice so you don't get an RFE. It's taking about 6 to 7 months to get an approval so be patient and in the mean time learn and educate everything you can for the next step in the journey to get your loved one here. Good luck to all you February filers!!!

We've seen some weird stuff going on with November approvals, like doing a big batch of approvals for the end of the month and then moving towards the beginning. There's also been a trend of more approvals being either silent or only reported through the "new" site which cannot be scanned because of its built in two factor authentication. There are a lot of unexplained mysteries with the USCIS stage. All we can do is make the best of the time we've got and try not to get discouraged. On the bright side, there are no federal holidays in June, so hopefully it's full steam ahead with approvals!

Yeah it is Ryan tough.

Where to check the timeline. Have you checked it on VJ site. I just assumed as per the previous approvals that I can get approval in first week of August

dkfan85 yeah a lot of people were getting their cases approved from the 15th through the 25th of November and then they started working their way backwards go figure. Our filing date was received November 22nd on the new USCIS site and the 20th on the old USCIS website Still a lot of November early filers still waiting so kinda screwy month. Hang in there guys !!!
