Also - if this info is correct and Vermont is processing nearly 3 months ahead of everyone else, that is spectacularly unfair!  Like it's a lotto whether you get processed in a reasonable 4 months or a painful 7 months (and have to move plans around!)

All k1 goes to California service center, vermont gets cases that are transferred from California due to additional background checks (DV cases etc)

and that datavis wrong. It’s mostly people who think they’ll be in vermont because of the old system and depending on their address.

Another note: August may be a little risky.

right now they are doing mainly October with barely (not even really) touching November.

so you have at least 2 more months unless something miraculously happen (always crossing fingers for miracles)

so youd probably get noa2 around end of June to July. Then NVC takes about 2-3 weeks the least. And after that it will depend on your embassy. If your embassy is a fast one. You may get it. But also nothing is for sure as not all cases goes according to even this plan some waits longer (way longer - like 250 to 300 days longer which I don’t wish on anyone)

hence overall i wouldnt put money money on a wedding just yet.

example: my friend noa1 was September 8 and mine was September 15. Although they started both dates around same time and people from my date also got noa2, we had our noa2s almost 4 weeks apart. Her NVC took almost a month with electronic case, and mine took a month with old system case. She finished everything in 8 days after that (her embassy was scheduling themselves) and she’s in US getting married this week. Mine just got to the embassy and although I somehow caught and rescheduled an inteview to early June, the only dates available at the moment at my embassy is end of July.

Thanks.  Unfortunately (or maybe not?) a wedding is happening in October. Deposits are down, UK invites have been sent so people can make travel arrangements (which fiance's friends & some of my US friends already have.  We got engaged NYE and UK peeps were demanding details within 2 weeks!  I'm a planner so I get wanting to make travel arrangements but give us time to plan!) Very difficult to plan your life with unknown time frames!  A lot of what I read online previously people were getting K1s in hand within 5-8 months so seemed very doable.  I guess that was prior to 2017, the Year of the Great K1 Backup. I can only hope they continue to get more & more efficient.

I really wish I would’ve sent in my petition in early January like I was supposed to. I just found out I’m 12 weeks pregnant and due November 25th. I’m so scared my fiancé will not be in the states when the baby is born. I’m actually becoming slightly depressed. I’ve been staying with him in South Africa awaiting our approval but now it seems no matter what I need to leave in the beginning of October. Hopefully I really do get my approval before my estimated time or at that time. This is my first baby and I’m only 23 I just graduated college last year  and I would be devastated if he could not be there

I hear you, I’m a planner too (this process is still making me go crazy) and that’s why when we realized what’s happening we moved the venue 1 month ahead right away.

Just one thing, do not make the wedding even as an unofficial one without the visa. This can lead to denial (it did in many many cases). I really hope it will be at least barely on time.

Right now ;since last year; k1 takes 8-11 months with the average of 9.5 months. Good luck!

Exactly I just got all of these things last week. In South Africa police cert is only good for 6 months I don’t think I did anything too fast nothing is dated except the police cert which I’m still waiting on and bank statements which I’m waiting for as well. Even if my case isn’t approved until November everything would still be in the appropriate time frame. I’m very ####### when it comes to detail
