Yeah, that's a tough toss up and definitely difficult since you're so used to having visit dates scheduled. If you can manage a couple trips - or at least one!! - I suggest it, especially since we don't know exactly how long we will be waiting. In a perfect world I would love to be relocated in October, BUT, at the moment I don't know how plausible that is. I've stopped aiming for any dates, as long as it happens within 2018, that is good for me. Do you have any date you are aiming for?

On a side note, we finally got our hardcopy of our NOA1 today in the mail! I guess I won't have to ask about his mail for awhile now

I think I definitely need to plan a trip in the next couple of months to keep me sane lol right now I'm just working 24/7 to distract from the fact that I don't know when we'll next see each other!

His cousin is getting married in September in California so in a perfect world I'd like to make it to that whether it be for a visit or if I have my visa but the processing times are so up in the air so I guess you just can't plan anything you just have to wait it out!

Congrats on your NOA1 hard copy! Next stop NOA2!!

For clarity sake: Notice date should be Saturday or Monday. My receipt date was given as Friday, Feb. 23 which coincides with the date it arrived at the PO Box, but it wasn't picked up and signed for until the following morning. :)

OH for sure!! Will start planning one next week!

Thank you!!! I was hanging for that notice! Every day he'd get home from work and I'd be like have you checked the mail today???? Now we play the waiting game!

Are you going to get your police checks and stuff now before your Noa2 arrives just so you're all prepared?

Is there any other steps we can do between now and then to be super on top and ready?

aaaah so exciting!!! Bring on these NOA2's!!

So how is everyone's significant other handling the process so far? My fiancee is pretty chill about the whole thing. We sat down and knocked out the form in a couple hours in her kitchen between sips of coffee and kisses. I gave her a general overview of how the whole process goes from NOA1 to POE and shared some links from her country's embassy website about what to do to prepare for the interview. Mostly we just hate the time we are essentially forced to spend apart while our paperwork waits in line. I've already burned all my paid vacation this year. Wish I had 25 days+ like a lot of you folks over the pond. :D
