At the moment probably yes, I have never called this late. And if you call right when they open, like the minute they open, you probably won't have to wait very long to speak to someone. When there is a long wait time they schedule a call back so you are not sitting on hold for hours

@Dawn&Jose thank you so much for this

@Dawn&Jose we were advised that if we want to talk to a tier 2 officer, we have to call back at 8 am. Is it true?

No, they never tranfer directly to them you leave a msg with the automated system and it calls you back

Can anyone help me out on how you can actually speak to a live person when you call the USCIS number.

So far all I get is an option to select English, input my receipt number and then it reads me an automated version of "Your case has been received" and if we have changed our address then we need to press whatever number it is that they want.

Could someone perhaps shed some light and make me feel a little less like a dumbass 😂

When I was calling about my expedite request, when I called extremely early in the morning like 1 minute after they opened there was no wait time, so they transferred me to a tier 2 with maybe a 2-5 minute wait on hold.

That's what happened to me as well. I've called around 9:00 am or in the late afternoon before and was told the wait was 110 minutes and that the system would call me back. It never did. I would recommend calling within the first five to ten minutes of the call center opening at 8am Eastern Standard time. You get patched through and just stay on the line for around 10 mins or so.

The tier 1s all follow the same script. Once you confirm your case number with them you can just say you were expecting a call back from the Tier 2 line but it never happened and if they can patch you back in. They might ask what it was about for the notes they push to the Tier 2 system so you can say something like "I wanted to see where the background check process is" or even simply has the review of the file been started.  Usually, they pass you over without much resistance (one less problem for them)

207 days and counting. I can't take it anymore. It's excessively depressing to see everyone getting approved before us.

We tried the new website, signing up for informed delivery, and my fiancé is supposed to call USCIS soon.

It's not like they require more time to do a more thorough background check, I don't know what to do or think anymore. I'm losing hope.

I'm feeling the same, people have been saying all week, don't lose hope. I don't know what to do either except breathe. Maybe the next 12 hours will change everything....

Day 198 I’m getting so impatient especially after seeing all the approvals. I’m happy for the ones who have gotten approved don’t get me wrong but it’s been over 4 months since I saw my fiancé and it’s  killing me. Hopefully I will hear something soon 😭😭

You must be my good luck charm, because after reading your post while walking through the airport, I figured I may as well check the old site for the second time today and BAM! APPROVED!! NOA1 2/20, NOA2 8/28 🙂

New site hasn't updated yet. Another weird thing, I didn't get an email or text. At this point, it's all good!

Congrats!  It was agony waiting and not knowing.  Good luck and happy thoughts to all that are still waiting.....   Your day will come, hopefully soon!

So I just got off the phone with USCIS

Old NOA1 2/12/18

New NOA1 2/15/18

The officer was very nice but the only information he had was that as of 5 days ago an officer has our petition and that we are still within the 5-7 month time frame but we are getting close and as of right now they are still working on Jan 30th.

Ugh I was hoping for an approval but hey I still think its good news!

Hi everyone!

My NOA2  is 19th of february (new website). We called earlier today only to receive the same information. We were advised to call back in 3 weeks when the processing times would be outside of normal. The lady on the phone was really nice . We were also told they are now working Jan 30th cases.
