Yes thanks for the reply. Bc I read this article. https://www.visatutor.com/facebook-social-media-affects-k-1-visa-outcome/

Well if they had the time to do all of that then the wait times would be years 😂. This is scare mongering and people just need to relax. Why would anyone be part of a Terrorist Facebook group? Just live your lives!! My fiancée hasn’t logged into Facebook in years and in fact he hates social media, not everyone lives their life online.

Yeah like fair enough if you were in some dodgy Facebook groups or whatever, but I really doubt not having a relationship status on or a profile pic of the two of you would make any difference

Are you going to put in a request for an inquiry?

I look at that site before. It seems much like other fear business (e.g. LifeLock etc) they exist to cash in people's fear. That is not to say certain dangers aren't real but the nature of these business seems very predatory, where they cultivate fears in already stressed and vulnerable population, then cash in on it with easy solution of "pay us, and we will take care of it!"

Set your facebook on private/friends only. It is probably NOT a good idea to having anything on it in a first place that you feel you need be embarassed about. My feelings FB shenanigans have much higher chance to affect your employment than Visa as many HR departments and managers do indeed seeks out potential employees on FB to ensure "good company culture fit". Social media is a plague.

May I ask why? I have to say I commend you for not only your calm guidance on this thread, but also your patient outlook for your case. I have been intermittently following your updates and am impressed by your tolerance throughout the last 7 months. It's honestly helped me to keep a calm head and remember no one is in this alone.

I keep in mind that there are others from past months that are still waiting. It's hard for me to complain when they r so many from past months.

Hey all - just last weekend my fiancé and I made a discovery that can hold up our process & I thought I'd share it with you in case it wasn't on your radar. We were reading through our embassy page and found that it said that the beneficiary passport must have 8 months of validity on it for the interview! We looked at my fiancé's expiration date and realized that it expires in April 2019. Eek! So we're off to apply for a new passport and hope it doesn't delay things for us too much as he lives abroad. After researching more, we found that the US requires 6 months validity at the interview but it appears this embassy has a larger requirement (or a typo haha) Hope our experience can help some of you prepare better as you wait!
