Hi,

I'm not an expert but personally this visa journey website helped me a lot. However, always use the USCIS official K1 visa page for the most reliable and up to date information, especially for the filing fee/where to file it to.

Here is a link to the Visa Journey's K1 Fiancé visa step-by-step guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

At the top of this page, it also offers a link to an overview of the entire K1 process. Like I mentioned above, use the USCIS website for official instructions on how to file.

Q54...do you mean where it asks to describe the circumstances of how we met? For ours, we used only the provided lines and kept it short. Stated when we met, that we lived together, then visited each other's homes and then finally, why we had to go back to our home countries. We didn't extend it further. Not sure if this was the right way to answer that but that's what we did. Hope this helps.

This is nice summary, the only thing I will add is on question 54 - we use the lines on the form, we also submitted supplemental one page summary to expand how we meet, where and when. Hopefully this help and good luck!

We did ours without a lawyer! (We're January filers but I like to check all the threads).

I'm expecting an RFE though because I didn't put a photocopy of the passport stamps in the packet we sent.

Oh no RambaCat :( Do you think passport stamps are that big of a concern?? Although with all the dumb af RFEs I wouldn't be surprised! I included mine AND my fiancè's passport stamps to corroborate some of our trips. But what I noticed is that my fiance's passport is oldish like 8 years old (still 2 years till expiration) and he has changed his signature since then. His letter of intent was signed with his "new" signature and now I'm worried they'll think something is weird about that. I'm hoping you get a chill adjudicator and they won't care about stamps! Maybe you'll be surprised!

I'm sure you'll be fine with the signatures, I'm sure they wouldn't look that closely (or I would be in trouble, mine changes daily!)

I've seen on here the stamps seem to be important; we included pictures, flight tickets and the record of i94 but I forgot about the passport bit! Doh! There are a few other things that could be rfe'd too, but I'm not too worried about it

Fingers crossed though. At least if I'm expecting and RFE it won't be too much of a shock?

I recently renewed my passport this past December and didn’t have my old one with any of my stamps in it... so I wasn’t actually able to provide any passport stamps with our I-129f. I included all my intineraries, boarding passes to and from, a handful of photos together, hotel receipts, and my I-94.

I’m pretty sure the evidence you and I submitted is enough to prove we’ve met our loved one in person within the last two years. :D

GOOD NEWS!!!  & QUESTION

I just received a text & email from USCIS, it states it was transfered to CSC for review.  Does that mean today is NOA1 date or does this text & email just simply mean that it's being sent there and the NOA1 date will actually be in the next week or two?

Either way BIG SMILES!  :D

Man, I hope they chill out a bit. Seriously, everytime I think about how the process has spiraled out of control completely for insane reasons, makes my blood boil. But well, c'est la vie. My motto in my long distance relationship has been: one day at a time. It is very transferable lol.

Congrats, I received my text on February, 13th and my letter had received date of February, 6th. So I think its earlier date than when they send the text/Email. Good luck!

Hey everybody!! Lewisville TX received my I129f form on Tuesday Feb 20th. Is anybody doing the process by themselves without an attorney? We have been together for 19 months and she lives in The Philippines.......I am so happy to find this site!! Best of luck to everyone!!

This is my second shot at a K1 (long story, but the moral of the story is not to ignore red flags and shrug them off as cultural differences). My first time through, I used a service called Rapid Visa. It was pretty helpful and had a much lower price tag than an attorney. I have a friend that is actually an immigration attorney and he quoted me double what this other service cost with his "friends and family" rate. This time, I just did everything myself and used some of the old material I had left over as an example and reference material. It was a bit easier as they combined two forms that were required before into just the I-129f. From what I understand, an attorney really only shines if there's ever a question of your relationship being legitimate further down the road in the immigration process. Anyone can prepare the documents that is familiar with them.

It wasn't transferred to CSC , it is filed at CSC.

go to the USCIS website and put your WAC number there and the date of the status is the received date.

Then later when you receive your hard copy, receipt number will be on it.

Good luck

I just received an email and text that our case has been sent to CSC!! Is this the NOA1? I am so excited for the process but feel so blind to the process.

The official NOA1 will be sent in the mail and you should receive it within about a week. Congrats! Now there's not much to do except wait for a few months and familiarize yourself with the next steps. :D The Philippines in particular have a bit more extensive process after NOA2 to follow.
