The "Receipt date for a case inquiry" shown there is the cutoff date for being considered outside of normal processing times. If you contact USCIS before then about the status of your case and it's newer than that date, they'll just tell you it's within normal processing times.

It's not the date of the last case they worked on or anything like that, and is usually about a month behind the newest non-expedite case they're working on (at least going by reports here).

People really need to understand this! It's a waste of time and won't do anything but add frustration to call them when within "normal processing time" as defined by them, not us, and not VJ. The reality is they have a call center with people that see the exact same information that any of us can see by pulling up our case number on the website. These people field who knows how many calls per day just to give them the exact same information we already have access to without waiting on hold. They aren't adjudicators. They don't have any special access privileges beyond what we already have. They are just normal call center folks paid to pass on the most basic information useful to those who may not have internet access. There have also been plenty of people who have called and been told they are still within normal processing time, they need to wait, and they have their NOA2 hard copy show up that day or the next. They were obviously approved before they made the call as there are a few days from approval to hard copy arriving in the mail, and the website and call center both showed the same information: We have received your case. Those famous "silent approvals" that don't show up on the site.

I calculated 600 one week and 1270 the next over the last two weeks.  Based on averages and making big assumptions.  So around 900 average which falls close to the 3200. +~ they get a month.  The wild card i believe are rfe, security checks and your case falling into a black hole at uscis then you date goes beyond the 6-7 month range.  Toss in holidays, vacations, training days for any given month and it will change things some.

When the day gets gloomy , I just read that second part because it is STILL a change from the initial message. The initial message on the site just used to say "We have received your case on date blah blah blah, read the notice we mailed you for further information on how we will process your case "

That was it. But since about 2 weeks ago, that CIRCLED MESSAGE APPEARED. So yes , I choose to see my glass half full. I'm probably really reaching to far corners for hope, but I'll take what I can get at this point.😂🌼

I have looked LONG AND HARD before that message was there. That message only appeared in August. I tell you the difference was spotted instantly when I saw it. That message wasn't always there. Guaranteed.  CROSS MY HEART. 😂

So I looked at my paper NOA1 this morning and my case status on the new website & they have the SAME DATE! My paper copy says my NOA1 was received Feb 15 and it was processed on Feb 19. The new website says Feb 19 is my date. I see so many people posting all sorts of different dates but for some reason mine match. I know we won't be able to apply logic to USCIS, but as we are apt to over-analyze everything at this stage in the waiting game, I thought I'd toss that nugget out into the VJ universe.
