I'm moving to GR too!

But it won't be that big of a weather difference for me, if at all :P  I can just imagine your pain!

Nice! I've seen like 3 or 4 people going to GR just on this thread!  We should definitively keep in touch.

Hahahahah I’m EXACTLY the same!

Ive literally been working overtime and 7 days a week purely to keep my mind busy AND if our notice is delayed the more money I can earn and save for my Bed Bath & Beyond spree! 😂

I went and visited my man last month and started decorating and it’s seriously given me something to look forward to (even if he wasn’t too impressed that I chose all white furniture) 😂

When you go to visit are you 100% honest with immigration and tell them you are visiting your fiance or do you just say you're visiting friends?

I’m always honest and tell them who I’m visiting.

The last visit (July) was the first visit I’d done as his fiancé and all the visits last year I told them I was visiting my boyfriend. ☺️

I've visited twice since we've been engaged and told border control I was visiting my fiance both times, I got a few extra questions but other than that it was fine. Best just to be 100% honest

Thanks guys. I'm planning to go for like 3 weeks in October so I'm just kinda nervous about not being let in! I'm of course going to have to come back to finish off this process but I haven't seen him in a while and he can't come here right now so I'm just gonna go out there.

Thanks for the responses, it makes me feel better that I can just be honest! I get stressed otherwise haha

I was nervous too, I always am at customs even though I have nothing to hide! I was extra nervous after we'd gotten engaged, but yeah I just said I'm visiting my fiancé, they asked when we were getting married and I said we've not set a date as we've applied for the K1 visa. They were totally fine both times. You'll be fine!

I been put in the (wait here while we do some more checks) room. Needless to say that was nerve racking for the hour I was in there. But, it was my own fault. Didn't print off my itinerary. Thought my phone would have service when I landed in Manchester.

luckily for me my now fiancé was waiting for me at the airport. They rang her to confirm what I was telling them since my phone wouldn't open due to no wifi signal.

Leason I learn from it was. Take screen shot or print off your itinerary.

Even worse was when I went to visit friends in Canada. Drove thru customs and they searched my whole truck. And questioned me cuz I was going to Quebec.

Come to find out, at that time people were being tricked into visiting people in Quebec and being robbed and murdered.

I wasn't traveling to one of those areas and they contacted my friends to make sure everything was legit.

Omg being pulled into the questioning room must've been nerve wracking! I was really nervous last time I visited so I got my employer to do me a letter confirming the date I was due back at work, had my return ticket ready to show on my phone, totally prepared and didn't need any of it - typical!

You must've freaked out so bad on that trip to Quebec 😰

I wasn't worried at all tbh. Had been chatting with them on FB for 3 yrs prior. Plus I had talked with the kids the best we could. Kids knew no English at all. But there parents would translate what I was saying and have them answer the best they could in English.

A little off-topic: in Germany the "Unwort des Jahres" (the "un-word of the year") is being published every year (more info https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Un-word_of_the_year)

I can tell you my un-sentence of the year: WE RECEIVED YOUR CASE.

When I open the site on my phone it only shows me the top part and I have to scroll down to see the status. Same shitty feeling every time. Hope, hope, hope, ahhhh, nothing 😞
