Can I file my K-1 petition from outside the US?

My fiancée is from Australia and we are currently living in New Zealand. In a couple months I will move back to the USA and my fiancée will move back to Australia to wait for her visa to be processed. Do I have to file the I-129F form from inside the states or can I file it now from New Zealand before I move back home? Would this complicate the process at all? Thanks for your help.

You can send it from anywhere as long as it goes to the USCIS stateside

Yes, I've done it! Just make sure you have access to personal checks or cashier's checks in USD to pay for the fee, and use FedEx/DHL/UPS to send to the proper lockbox. Also note that you will not get text message updates to a foreign phone number, and that mailed updates will take longer to send internationally.

10/11/2018: K-1 Interview (Guangzhou, China) -- approved at last!

02/14/2019: POE

02/21/2019: We're married, baby!

03/29/2019: Filed for AOS, EAD, and AP

02/07/2022: Filed for ROC

12/13/2022: Filed N400
