I filed a petition for my fiancé with the k1 visa back in September 2016 . My fiancé had his interview at the USA embassy in his country in April . Due to a petty theft he had years ago in his police record they denied his visa in June but said we could file a waiver . I made an appointment with the same lawyer who assisted my family and I when we fixed our papers around 17 years ago . he still has a lot of clients and positive reviews but I had to wait a month to see him after I made the appointment , anyways I was able to talk to him in July about my case he said she can take it . In August I give her part of the money so he  can start the waiver . In October I saw my fiancé and I bring the lawyer  in November all the paper work that was requested the day of the appointment to start the waiver . I am honestly kind of disappointed because I feel that he hasn’t put interest in my case I keep trying to email him and he keeps transferring me to different staff at his  law firm and I email them asking them questions and they don’t reply to me , finally they did and they asked me for more papers that I had  already submitted to his office . It’s so frustrating and I am also 15 weeks pregnant from my fiancé . My concern is that if the k1 application has some kind of dead line or expiration date on until when I can submit this waiver . I contacted the embassy and they have not reply to me . If anyone here has any advice or is going through a similar situation please tel me . Thank you .

Sounds like you need a new lawyer.

That’s what I have been thinking too but I already gave her part of they money and everyone knows to file waivers it’s not cheap . I’m surprised because she has a lot of clients the times I have been to her office people have to wait a long time to see her because of all the amount of people that go there . My concern is that i wonder if the k1 has an expiration date or if there is a dead line for me to submit the waiver .
