I am getting ready to schedule our interview and am wondering how much time should I allow to obtain the police certificate. Does anyone have any experience with this and know about how long it takes to get the certificate once requested?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Yeah we're going to request it on Monday. What I'm actually wondering though is how long does it take to get the police certificate from the time we request it - so I can have an idea of when I can schedule the interview (in other words want to avoid not having the certificate in time for the interview).

It is very easy to get a police certificate in Russia, when my husband applied for his, it took about 1-2 weeks. That was in Saint Petersburg and my husband had never lived in any other cities, so I don't know if the speed might be slower in different cities or for Russians who've lived in different cities. I believe the standard processing time is not more than 30 days.

Ok great, sounds like we should have no problem getting it before the interview then. Thanks, super helpful!

Hello,  after reading the responses, it looks like we should allow up to 2 months to get a police certificate.

my fiancé is from Novosibirsk.  Can we request the certificate online?  If anyone has a link or can outline the steps to request the PC, I would be appreciative.

 Thanks, David

Here is a link with everything you need to know about the certificate of course this is for someone in Venezuela but their are links and added information that is generic in nature that applies to everyone.

Keep in mind you don't want to be applying too far out because their is a validity date you must adhere to. That's discussed in more detail in the other thread. Goo luck.

Hi David.

I am from Novosibirsk too and no matter where you live there is a website Gosuslugi https://www.gosuslugi.ru/ to use in order to obtain it easier. The only thing is if you aren't registered on it, you will need to go an extra mile to do that, but it is all doable, of course. To get the certificate once it's issued you'll need to go to the office, it took me about 30-35 days and a couple of minutes to get it at their office. I got it a couple of years ago, but I lived in more that one city. The one I got in Moscow this year took about 40 days, and I also did everything online.

It ended up taking just about 5 weeks to get the certificate including delivery from Krasnoyarsk to small city outside Krasnoyarsk. They should partner with Amazon to get these things delivered faster 😄
