What I learned is that the website is as slow as molasses with its response time.  If you are trying to quickly page through to find the page you want, it gets VERY confused.  So once I slowed WAY down, I was able to able to get through, and add documents (which was painful).  We decided to throw a bunch of stuff up there, but we are going to bring (or SHE is going to bring) all the bank statements/credit card statements to the interview.  Uploading them is just too slow.

 

Our working on the websites on the weekend is always hit or miss.  That's when any tweaks and/or updates will be made - and sometimes they have to back out the changes right away because they were not tested properly.

 

Filing online is GREAT, but it does take patience and time.

 

My spouse is looking over the data today, and we hope to "push the button" tonight!

I've been filling the application out for a couple of weeks and I've found the website to be fine - I've been quite pleasantly surprised to be honest. Uploading docs was quick and easy, although deleting docs is impossible.

Hopefully it'll be back up soon. 

Damn USCIS. T'was ever thus and ever thus shall be. lol

OK - we're officially in the game now!

 

I am terribly sorry - for some reason, I have NEVER been able to get this laptop to recognize the font necessary to keep up the data list.  In my ROC month, we used a Google Docs spreadsheet, but I understand that phone users cannot use it.

So if someone would be kind enough...

I just realized this morning I hadn't set up the e-mail and mobile alerts. My case status says they sent out the NOA and my biometrics appointment is scheduled. How long after they scheduled your biometrics did you get your appointment letter? My work schedule is already made and I need to know if I have to change a shift around.

I got the mailed appointment exactly 1 week after I filed online. I was able to see the online pdf 3 days after I filed. As buggy as the system is, I like that when you file online, you get an online pdf of everything they send you through the mail. It’s a nice backup in case you misplace the mailed letter. Not that I would lose something that important, but still nice to have.

Good evening everyone

 

I am going to fill online as well this month ( everything is uploaded just need to wait a couple of days for the exact date).

I was checking the processing time for the N-400 around the country and there are difference of 4-6 months between the different offices.

 

Did anyone picked a different office from where you live in order to speed up the process or does the USCIS might find that suspicious?

I just want to make sure that it won't backfire.

There is only one office that will serve your address, I don't think you can pick a different office. For example, my office is in Cleveland (2 hours away) while the Detroit office is only 1.5hrs away. I assume because it is in Michigan rather than Ohio is why I am having to go to Cleveland.

 

Also I wouldn't be surprised if they do police checks in your local district, and it might be harder for an office that doesn't serve your local district normally to do those. I would think it would just slow things down as they would just send it to your actual USCIS office.
