I got a notification today from USCIS. There was a biometrics letter in my account so I printed it out. They scheduled me to attend my appointment at the Application Support Center in Fargo on 03/01/2018. The problem is I will be in Texas at that time.  :(  The letter says that to reschedule the appointment I have to send the original notice (which won't get here until the end of the week I'm sure) to Alexandria, VA. And...rescheduling will delay my application <_<, um...no kidding.

 

I am going to try to do a walk in with this copy and see if they will let me in the door. I really hate to have to go through snail mail for a reschedule.

So I was in Fargo today for a chiropractic appointment, stopped downtown at the USCIS office and asked the officers in the lobby if I would be able to come in without an appointment.  I was told that they would allow me in, but they were not sure that USCIS allowed walk-ins.  I remember them being pretty welcoming last year when I went in for my ROC biometrics, so I am going to chance it.  The worst they can say is no. :)

Also, since I'm an online filler, my request# start with "IOE".

Start of journey:

August 2013: Introduced by friends.
August 2014: Engaged!
September 2014: Marriage!!! Yayyyyy.
October 23rd 2014: Filed for AOS (day 0)
November 3rd 2014: Packet received in Chicago.
November 7th 2014: Email/texts received--NOA1s mailed.
December 5th 2014: Bio-metrics at St Louis USCIS
December 5th 2014: text msg notification to check USCIS site: RFE (Original Birth certification)

December 17th 2014: receive RFE in mail, sent back immediately.
December 22nd 2014: text msg notification to check USCIS site: AP card produced.
February 16th 2015: Interview appointment letter was mail.
April 16th 2015: Interview done, no decision was made!
April 30th 2015: I-130/I-485 approved. Card Produces. Welcome notices was mailed.

May 4th 2015: Welcome Notice and I-130/I-485 approved in mail.

May 5th 2015: Card was email with the USPS tracking number.

May 6th 2015: Physical card on hand!!!

Removing Condition:

 

February 10th 2017: Sent I-751 package to California Service Center (day 0).

February 13th 2017: Package delivered to P.O in California.

February 15th 2017: Cheque cashed.

February 21st 2017: NOA1 delivered in mail. It showed it was created on Feb 13rd at 16:21pm.

March 8th 2017: Bio-metrics at St Louis USCIS Office.

February 3rd 2018: Apply N-400 online, card is charged on the same date.

February 4th 2018: Online status change to "We received your application" and estimate to be touch next 8 months (Oct 2018)

March 27th 2018: Bio-metrics at St Louis USCIS Office. 

October 2nd 2018: Combine interview completed! Recommend for approval!

October 26th 2018: Take the Oath! Complete the long journey!

Mine wasn’t on the mailed version nor the online version. Not too worried about it. I think they go by the alien registration number rather than your social security number.

I’m a long time green card holder so I wasn’t really in a rush to file but now that I have filed, I feel so impatient too. The first couple days I kept logging on for updates every few hours as if something was gonna change that fast. Haha. I mean my biometrics appt letter was available online 3 days after I filed so that was kind of awesome. My biometrics appt is in a week and I’m so anxious to be done with it and move on to the next step even though that very likely means waiting months to get an interview.

CT applicant here. Biometrics came 6 days after Noa. However, my cousin got it 14 days after. Same office and live in the same city. Strange.

It really is very strange how the same office can have such different processing times. I filed online on 2/2 and both the NOA and Biometrics letters were available online on 2/5 and received it in the mail a few days later. But both letters have a notice date of 2/2 so they scheduled my biometrics the same day they received my application.

Did you check your online account?

 

The online system doesn’t seem like the real-time update. I checked my online account on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th.

 

On 10th, 11th, 12th – I didn’t see anything about Biometrics.

 

All I could see was –  

 

Case Status/History – We received your application.

Documents Tab – Receipt Notice

 

On 13th,

Case Status – On February 10, 2018, we scheduled your biometrics appointment

Documents Tab – Had my biometrics appointment letter

Wow! That's weird!!:o I was expecting to find people from same office that I could compare it. Unfortunately it doesn't  work that way I thought.
