thank you for the good thought!

After my GC interview back in 2015, it took a month and an infopass appointment to get things moving. Hopefully this won't be a repeat.

I doubt it will, in fact I feel you will hear sooner rather than later.  When I was at my interview I asked the officer how long it would be before i heard, they said I would hear within 3 to 6 weeks about the date, so I was quite surprised when I heard a day later.   I am sure you will hear this week sometime. My notice came through at 11.30pm and obviously so late at night and so soon was a bit of a shock, but a nice shock.

Oh, I downloaded my letter, not received the one in the mail and it just says my Oath Ceremony is at 1pm, not mentioning what time to check in. I guess I shall see if the letter in the mail tells me more.

Initially when I got the letter I thought the time indicated on it was the ceremony, but when I checked the courthouse website the ceremony is at 3pm and 1:30 is when I need to check in with the USCIS representative prior to the ceremony taking place.

May be good for you to check the courthouse website and see what info they have posted.

I so hope you and @Name O Boy are right! When I asked the interviewer, he wanted to write down the date I will be returning from my trip (Oct 2nd) to maybe schedule the ceremony after that. I asked him to please-please try to do it before I leave mid-September (so I don't have to travel on my Romanian passport and maiden name, as I already purchased the ticket in my married name). We'll see. All I can do is wait.

I'm curious who @Name O Boy gets and how his case goes, since we're both in the same USCIS office and both have combo interviews.

Thanks, I shall turn up earlier, although my ceremony is not at the courthouse apparently its at the field office. I thought it would be the last Friday of any given month but after speaking with the officer about it I was told that they use the courthouse for people changing their names and I'm not changing my name.

I did something like this at my interview last week. I have a trip to Europe in early September. Sacramento oath ceremonies are at the end of each month, usually a wednesday or thursday. Typically, people who have their interviews by around the 8th of a given month have their oath ceremony the same month. Everyone else gets the next month. That would have meant I get the August oath ceremony. But with my N-652 in hand I mentioned that my travel history already shows a record of periodic trips to Europe, so could I please have my ceremony in July, if possible ? She said she'll certainly put in the request. My case status updated overnight to 'oath letter is in the mail' - I was successfully placed in the July oath ceremony .

how kind of the office to get right on it! I'm still "scheduled for interview" on my online status.

I do hope you have the same good fortune. I wasn't expecting it, since I had foreign travel after my application, so I was expecting that they'd take longer to redo checks and schedule me for the oath ceremony.

If you haven't already done so, there's probably nothing to lose in calling and talking to an L2 officer about this. I was pretty data driven about estimating my Sac timelines, and most people seemed to take a week or two to get their oath letters after interview, so I know I'm not the common case.

Yeah, most probably your oath ceremony will be scheduled for mid-August. My interview is 2 weeks away and I don't have to travel anywhere. I am 99.99% sure your oath ceremony will be in August if for some reason it is scheduled in late August you will apply to expedite your passport application. It is going to take less than a week to get your new passport.

I can even get a passport the same day if I drive to Seattle, which wouldn't be a problem if it comes to it. If nothing changes by the end of the month I'll make an infopass.

We are going to expedite the passport - it's worth the money to have it in her hands as quickly as possible.  If someone in her family should have an emergency, she would be flattened if she could not travel.  Of course, she has to get through the interview first!!!!
