@shell20 @evapaula Sending you best wishes for the interview tomorrow :) I am very positive you both will have a wonderful interview. Regards

Thanks. I had my interview today, they were running half an hour late, but the officer let me know, which I thought was very kind of her.  I went into the interview room and I was SO anxious. I was a mess really.  My husband wasn't allowed in with me. I asked why later and was told that its a distraction especially when youre nervous and it stops any cheating with the test. I told the officer I was nervous, felt really sick and she said lets get the questions out of the way. She started and my mind went totally blank, like mush. She asked me a question and I gave an answer that wasn't relevant. I realised my mistake and she said correct. Same happened with the second question, but she was so patient. I did end up getting 6 out of 6 but only because she knew I was nervous and had patience.

Then the interview, that was not long. Just asking questions about where my husbands work place and then she went  through the paperwork I submitted.   I was not asked for any documentation, not divorce certs or such. Only my GC, passport and state id.   I did overload but it was already submitted online, so it was not asked for.

At the end of the interview and after signing a few things, like my additional vacation in May for my sons wedding, she told me I was approved.

I was still in the car park when we received a text message, but couldnt check it until I got home a few hours later. First message said we are reviewing your case for approval, not a couple of mins later or if not at the same time was a message put inline for Oath Ceremony.

I did ask the officer when this might be. I thought it was the third Friday of each month, but apparently the court house is for people changing their name when doing the Oath Ceremony.  My ceremony will likely be beginning of August when I questioned more. She said three to six weeks to receive my date, then I questioned a little further and that's when the officer said it looks like it may be the beginning of August and also it will be at the USCIS field office.

The sheer emotion of it all when I signed those documents. I thought bloomin heck Im going to cry and I said it out aloud, the officers reply was kind, she basically said its a long journey and its a very special moment. :)

@shell20 Congratulations Shelly. Indeed, it's been a long journey and you deserve all the success and joy. I am very happy to see you finish your immigration journey. Best wishes

Not finished yet my friend. Not a citizen until the Oath Ceremony. However, what I did notice on the text about the Oath ceremony is that you will hear within 45 days, which kind of corresponds with what the officer said, she said I could expect my notice between 3 and 6 weeks.  That's when I probed a bit more and asked her estimated time line for my Oath Ceremony and she replied that there a quite a few people at the Oath ceremonies,so she expects mine  to be around the beginning of August.

I just looked again at the  email saying we are reviewing  your casefor quality control and my Oath Ceremony inline and noticed they were basically sent together whilst I was still in the car park of the USCIS. Talk about quick!!  I thought there was no quick in USCIS, but I am wrong. I think I may send a letter about how kind the officer was, however very professional and formal at the same time, as she was interviewing me for something very serious.  I just guess that at times we send letters of complaint with sheer frustration, but when someone is kind we tend to overlook that.  You know me, got to give my work mate a HUGE pat on the back, working for USCIS  like you think.... Obviously we sat there and talked about you and yes there is no hiding, as the government now read new immigrants emails, text messages and such!! LOL. :)

Nice. Since your cousin and I got scheduled on the same day, I guess we’ll probably be in the same ceremony. I’m excited to see the date and location when it uploads to my account tomorrow!

Of course I remember. Funnily enough, there was a couple today who were at the field office. I noticed they did not hand in their letter to the tray, so I mentioned it to them, as they might have been waiting a very long time.  Any way we started talking and they were there for ROC vermont from last June and they needed a stamp.  Hmm, come to think of it they were after us and I thought they were before us.  Getting back to the convo, I told them what happened with the keys/handcuffs at security. They thought it was hilarious. Before we went in today I said to my husband, please tell me those keys are not back on your key ring?

They were not, however my husband woke up this morning after 2 hours sleep as I was hyper with anxiety and his eye was bright red and it felt like something was blistered inside. So we ended making an emergency appointment in Pittsburgh for his eye and the phone call was made as were at the USCIS field office. He went to speak to security whether he could make that call or would have to go outside to make it, whilst I was still talking to this really lovely couple and waiting for my interview.

I never did ask him if he had to go outside to make it, I was WAY to anxious, to ask at the time. I was basically a nervous wreck, no idea why but probably so many emotions, such a long, stressful journey I think.

Yes, it's been a long journey. I am pretty sure those keys and handcuffs are pretty safe at home nothing to worry. Your hubby is taking care of it  Back to the topic, have you looked at VJ Pittsburg applicants timeline regarding there oath scheduling timeframe?

Nope, don't really need too. apparently they have to schedule you within 45 days. No idea why, was hoping it would be the third Friday of the month, but thats only for people changing their names, so I am keeping faith that the officer was correct around the beginning of August, which is fine as I have a wedding in Chicago at the end of July! I shall make sure I take a photograph of it and post it on here. Now what to wear??? Lol.

Have you heard anything?

OMG, after a very long day with no sleep, I have just realised our whole journey has been one with no RFE. I was sure we would get one with N400, but nope.   I overloaded on documentation today, but everything was already online, so they didn't need that info, best to take it any way.  The question is can you get an RFE at the Oath Ceremony?  Being a dizzy blonde, I probably will. Not told you what happened at security in Manchester on my way back home to the USA. Talk about hilarious, you think the handcuffs were funny, but this is an all time classic!! :)

Of course I do!!! Just so extremely tired , so much so that I answered the questions and the officer must have I thought I had lost the plot. I confused the emancipation with the civil rights movement. I confused the loyalty to the USA with the Pledge of Allegiance. . Actually I am now confusing myself!! :)
