Correct, you would put No (as long as this is true and the beneficiary truly has *not* had someone else file an immigrant petition like a CR1, etc. for them before)

@Amit&Julie I have had an employer apply for US work visa which was denied but work visa is a non-immigrant visa and not immigrant. So I’m gonna still say no. I checked in with my employer as well.

Hey guys!

Do you know if it is common at this consulate to get visas day-of? Trying to plan for fiance's flight... I so want him to come ASAP, but also dont want to reschedule a flight in a super expensive way.

Same-day? No.

Where does your fiance live?

Really, the safest choice is to wait until after he has the visa physically in his hands and then make any travel plans. A pricey last-minute flight is better than a flight he can't even take and money down the toilet because of a delay due to 221g processing or courier delays.

Sigh, I thought that might be the case. I guess we'll just buy the soonest visa-in-hand flight! He's in Pune, so not impossibly far!

As additional info, if his visa is approved, it will probably be ready for pickup at the Blue Dart location (assuming there's one in Pune? I have no idea) about 5-7 days after the interview. Best wishes for you guys!

Aaahhhhhh. The USTravels website sucks. At first it shows dates and then it lock you out. Why don’t people have flexibility to move and play around with dates? This is simply outrageous. And that too interview dates are so far out at end of June and it’s almost end of noa2 in July.

I'm sorry. It does suck. Now that they'll have to handle ALL of K-1s and CR-1s, it'll probably get worse. Would be nice if they hired a few more officers and other personnel to handle the volume, or at least shifted personnel from other US embassies in India that should now have lower volume.

We are running into date frustrations with Amit's family's B2 tourist visa applications, also. Earliest available date in Delhi is after our wedding. :cry2:

Here's a warning and trick to get an earlier interview :

First, warning that you can only change dates FOUR TIMES and it counts even if you accidentally choose the wrong center. You must repay and do the process all over again after that.

Second, the trick we found was to select the first June or July date available. Next, login once in early morning, once middle of day and once late at night (odd hours are best). You will see better dates come up randomly and grab it when you see it...before someone else does.

Good luck!!!

Yikes!!! That’s no good but I’m pretty sure that tourist interviews would open up sometime sooner than that. Can they fly out to another location? I know that’s adiditonal cost but atleast gives them time  to make it to wedding.

and we’d think that with them moving all K-1 to Mumbai they’d think about each detail but this sucks. On Wednesday before I paid fees, consular appointment it was June 15, then on the day I paid fees it was June 22 & now June 29. Seems like they only open on fridays and one time a week. Plain and simple stupid and doesn’t make sense. K-1 is already on 4 months window and now this happens?

Hi, thanks for the warning and trick.

For the warninng, that Four time thing. That’s after the appointment is already scheduled, right? Not before confirming anything? Cuz I’ve already played around with dates more than 10-15 dates.

Yes, after you hit next through the dates to schedule the appointment. I scheduled for June 9th (first available), then rescheduled when May appt opened, but accidentally chose Chennai for biometric, had to change to Mumbai (that cost me an extra one against the limit).

Then we found an April 13th appt and took it, flew to Mumbai and interviewed.

Choose the first available then you can change it and move it up as spaces or cancellations open up!!! ;)

@IndiaAnnie Ha! well sounds like there’s hope then. Thanks for sharing. My fiancé and I are disappointed cuz of such far away dates. If I was t locked out of the stupid website I would have atleast had one reserved appointment.

And is it true for the medical that we need a scheduled appointment letter from embassy? Or would DS-160 confirmation page work enough?

@Amit&Julie what did your amit do?

@IndiaAnnie haha, a miracle happened. Somehow the website worked and let me schedule without it being locked out for complete 24hours and I got the last one remaining slot for June 29. Interview booked but now I only hope that I can get something earlier than that. Now the next available interview date is July 6th which is actually my birthday 😂😂.

now that my appointment is booked. When should I start checking for earlier dates? Same day or starting next day? And you said just check it early morning and afternoon and late night for it?

@IndiaAnnie also, do you know how much gap can it be between interview and medical. Also gap between biometrics and interview? I guess In order to reschedule consulate interview we need to reschedule biometrics too.
