Well, if you distrust US Travel Docs and want to take a "better safe than sorry" approach, then pretty much your only option is to go to one of the hospitals on the Mumbai list.

That’s what I’m debating.

It's ultimately up to you.

One last piece of advice from me (again): email US Travel Docs. Explain why you're confused and ask them if you can do your medical for K1 at a hospital on the Delhi list. That way you would at least get something in writing that you could point to if the consulate does have a problem with it. Heck, call their numbers at different times, ask different people, see if they're all saying the same thing. I copy/pasted these below. Let us what you decide and how it works out.

For any inquiries call: From India: 91 120 4844644 or 91 40 46258222; From US: 1 – 703 -520-2239 (8.00am to 8.00pm Monday through Friday and 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Sunday) Email: support-india@ustraveldocs.com.

@Amit&Julie haha, funny you say that cuz I tried both the methods and hence I’m more confused. Below is the screenshot of what their email said, it’s so generic. I’m gonna send an email again and see what they respond with.

@Amit&Julie US TRAVELS has confirmed over phone and also via an email that I can go for medical in Delhi. Praise Jesus!

Hi all!

I've gone two days now without seeing any other (even later than our currently scheduled June 1) consulate appointments! Am I doing something wrong or are there actually just so few appointments? I keep checking as much as possible without being locked out, but I'd love to get an earlier appointment! This part of the process has been really frustrating as we have received zero contact from the NVC, Embassy, even slow responses from travel docs people. Yikes! Your guidance here is so helpful!!

There really are just so few appointments, and they only open up maybe a few months at a time for bookings. Check in the morning India time in case cancellations have happened.

Yikes, so sad! Will check- wasn't sure if Indian morning or US- thanks for the clarification. :) We still haven't gotten our Packet 4/appointment letter or any news from NVC. Are we doomed? Lost? Fiance is so worried about showing up for his biometrics appointment without it!

No, no, you're far from doomed. A couple of weeks between NVC receipt and Consulate receipt is normal. Keep checking on the CEAC website. After the case is "Ready" at Mumbai, you'll probably get the Packet 4 in email format. In the meantime, read the copy of Packet 4 on the consulate website. Get your PCC from the regional passport office now. Make sure your other documents are in order so you can move quick when the case is Ready.

Yeah I would check Indian time, like Julie said. I had my interview initially scheduled for late June, but ended up seeing a date over the weekend for May.  Just keep checking, maybe someone will cancel. You can always email ustraveldocs for your packet 4. They sent it to us by email and told us the date they sent it by mail. My fiance ended up receiving it by mail a few days later.

We finally got our biometrics done today and feeling a little better about the process! Still waiting for our account to be unlocked so we can keep checking for earlier appointment times! Thanks everyone for the reassurance!!

For the Americans- is there anything you're planning to do/cook to make the US feel like home? I wish my pav bhaji was good enough for a taste of India, but I doubt it haha!

Oh, that's good to hear.

Things I've done or want to do to make the US feel like home for my fiance:

- Went to nearby Indian grocery and got products I've seen at his house (i.e. Taj Mahal tea)

- Put Indian cooking pots & utensils on our Amazon wedding registry

- Buy certain items he doesn't have that will make home here in Denver more cozy for him (slippers, a plush robe, maybe a Snuggie? lol)

- Go to Hindi movies together since a few local cinemas have them sometimes

- Make complete list of Indian restaurants to try until he finds his favorites

- Stock up on Indian cooking ingredients. He's going to teach me how to cook Indian food

- Get a charpoy (no idea from where, though!)

I'd like to hear what others are planning, also! I worry about him getting homesick.

Guys,

what are we answring to the question in DS-160 where it asks: “has anyone ever filed for an immigration petition with uscis?” We are answering no to that right? Cuz this is technically not an immigration visa but non-immigrant.

Correct, you would put No (as long as this is true and the beneficiary truly has *not* had someone else file an immigrant petition like a CR1, etc. for them before)
