Could somebody please link me to some posts which advise on how to sort and arrange documents that are required for the interview. I know there's google and I'm going through a lot of them but I would love some advice from VJ too.

Should I arrange all of the proof of relationship, stuff that was sent for the i129f and the ones after ? My fiancee told me not to mix them up, but I was thinking of arranging them by date. Photos all together, chats/ emails together, travel/hotel stay/visa etc ?

Hi @stiggy771

From what I know - all the papers you sent with i129F package should be kept separately - the Mumbai embassy should send it back to you with your P3 as I read above 3 posts here only. For visa interview you should organize all papers needed with a cover letter and index sheet with details. (That's what I did for my i129F package)

Regarding the proof of relationship - include mixture from starting till now (new ones first to my opinion)  but leave the i129 package ones as it is (basically make photocopies) and them them to your current interview pile of documents. You can use post it notes, separators for easy marking. Make your file as appealing and easy to access for the officer as they will  barely have 5 mins. This is my understanding.

Hope this helps.

To all- Please do correct if I am wrong anywhere.

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone here travelled to US on B1/B2 in the middle of the K! process before or after NOA2 approval ? What was your experience? If anyone was denied entry by the Patrol Officer because of intention to immigrate - was your passport stamped?

We got a plastic multi-pocket accordion folder. Here is generally the way we arranged the pockets, from what I remember. More important docs were toward the front. Photos were put in labeled ziploc baggies before being put in a labeled pocket.

  1. Docs that we knew were required for the interview (Packet 4)
  2. "Highlight" photos (about 10) from the whole span of our relationship, showing where we were together and often supporting the specific facts of our relationship (how we met, what we have in common, etc.).
  3. Trip A (most recent and happened after filing I-129F petition) - boarding passes, hotel receipts, other receipts, more photos from that trip. We did use these; the officer saw the stamp in Amit's passport and asked to  see photos from this trip.
  4. Trip B - same as above but less recent. We had one pocket for each trip we had seen each other in person so there were a few pockets.
  5. Proof of Relationship - since the majority of our online communication was through Facebook messenger, I picked one screenshot from each month between the time of filing our I-129F up to the time of the interview. I tried to pick conversations that demonstrated the truth of our relationship and also some typical "couple" convos. I also had a few screenshots each from Skype, WhatsApp, emails between us, etc. Officer didn't request to see any of this.
  6. Proof of Wedding Plans - brought it just in case and didn't have much, but I did have some emails from wedding planners and my wedding dress receipt. Again, officer didn't ask to see any of this, just asked about my plans.

I think we had a few extra pockets for I-134 supporting documents, NOA1 and NOA2 letters, extra copies of birth certifcate & PCC, etc.

Most importantly, choose a structure that will make sense to the person being interviewed and go over the contents so you are familiar with what is where and can quickly produce whatever might be requested.

Thank you so much for this. This is exactly what I wanted. :)

Exactly what I wrote , I am happy that I am on the right path, it always is a logical to do everything in an organized manner and make it is easy on the consular officer. I have seen an organized is always 100% helpful in getting any visa not just US.

I don't think that will make a difference. The envelope that really MUST remained sealed is the one that you will hopefully get upon being approved and then picking up your visa. And I wouldn't worry about no signature on their letter to you, it's probably just a generic one they send. Go ahead and apply for the K1 and, if you haven't already, get all your documents in order.

All of our fiance's receive the package and because it contains such personal information we had his father lock in safe with other family papers, will and land docs. I felt better knowing that his family has all my info in case of emergency but will say that I'm lucky to have an incredibly supportive Indian family that value me and our relationship above most.

You can do similar or bring them back with you to your fiance in the U.S. when you receive Visa and travel. I would suggest to anyone reading this that you kindly "pay" your local mail delivery person to call you when this packet arrives and delivery only to you or hands of very trusted family member. It's a bit archaic and dangerous for identify theft... In my opinion.

Good luck to you!!!

Thank you both for your tips! Completed my medical and Received my PCC from Kuwait as well ,just waiting on my affidavit of support and documents from my fiance. I was finally able to reschedule the interviews for late August, but am really hoping some dates in early August open up soon.

I had opted for premium delivery while booking the appointment.Since the incident with the package from the embassy being opened, is there a way I can have it changed to selecting a pickup location in Bangalore instead? Can I make that change now or do I have to wait until the interview? Anyone know?

I got the medical done at the Apollo Personalized Health Check hospital in Chennai.

1) A nurse withdrew a vial of blood.

2) She provided me a cup and directed me to the restroom to fill it with a urine sample.

3) I was then taken into an exam room for a prelim exam wherein a nurse checked my height, weight and bmi. Since I wear prescription glasses, I was asked to read off a sheet hung on the wall with & without my glasses on, with one eye covered each time. She also did some really ridiculous hearing test where she'd whisper ans ask me to repeat what I had heard.

4) I had a chest x-ray done after waitng for 20-30 minutes

5) Met the the panel physician who filled out a sheet with all the vaccination history I provided her. Although I've had chickenpox and tetanus shots before I didnt have documentary evidence. I opted to get a flu shot and a tetanus shot. She explained that I would have to get the chickenpox shot once I reached the US as it would be required when applying for AOS etc.She also asked about my medical history and whether I had been hospitalized.

She then asked me to strip down to my underwear and wear the hospital gown and lie down on the bed. Asked me to take deep breaths, checked whether diff parts hurt etc. And that was it.

She stated that if something was wrong I'd get a call.before 1pm the next day. Else, I could pick up the results between 4-5pm tomorrow. She asked to go back to the main counter and wait to be called for the vaccinations.

6) Waited about 15 minutes, paid for the vaccinations, waited a lilore and finally got called into a room where both were promptly administered. I was finally done.

The entire thing took about 3-4 hours.

Went back the next day around 3:30pm, and had my sealed report in hand by 3:55pm.

Hope this helps. Keep in mind that each physician's approach can vary.
