I didn't wait for the packet to schedule the interview, I scheduled it after it said ready on the NVC website. For the medical I think for most places you can receive your medical the next day that's how it was for my fiance, just call the place you will have your medical performed, I think at least a week before your interview will be good. As for your last question, you can pick up your passport in Mumbai, or they will be able to courier your visa to your home in only certain parts India. They also have pick up locations to get your passport if they are not able to courier it to your home.

Thanks so much for helping me out.

Hi to Everyone,

I am just preparing for steps post NOA2 to be taken in India - Mumbai Embassy.

If I’m not wrong the order of procedure is as follows:

  1. After NOA2 approval , case goes to NVC ( takes about 20-25 days)
  2. Case number n all is assigned and then it is transferred to Mumbai Embassy ( takes about 15 days)
  3. In the meanwhile DS-160 , i134 n other required documents can be prepared n kept ready.
  4. After Mumbai Embassy receives the request, packet 3 letter or information is sent to beneficiary n interview can be scheduled.

My questions are:

a).When can the DS-160 be submitted and fees be paid at NVC stage or only after Mumbai Embassy sends the letter to beneficiary?

b) Same for medical n Visa Interview- how early can they be scheduled?

c) What is the minimum time gap required between medical n Visa Interview for Mumbai ? Can they be done in one week’s time.

d) After visa is approved at Embassy, in how many days approximately do you get your passport back ? Is it necessary for you to go n collect your passport or they can courier it to you?

Would appreciate any answers to help me prepare my timeline better .

Thanks so much for helping out !!!

Any other reviews n opinions of others??

Hi,

I didn't see any India specific instructions for I134. I included letter from bank (with basic account details), letter from employer stating required info and last year's W2 form. Is there any need for more than that?

Hi,

Has your interview taken place as per your VJ timeline ?

To answer your question  - there are no India specific instructions for i134 as that needs to be filled by the US Petitioner to show that he can support the beneficiary. So the petitioner needs to provide tax returns , pay stubs , letter from employer etc. You can find the details in the i134 form instructions available on website.

Hope this helps !!

Hi All,

While trying to pay for the visa at the ustraveldocs website, there is an option to select Pickup or  premium delivery. We want to pickup the passport as early as possible after the interview. (We will request embassy for same day processing if they will accept) . I assume I need to select the Mumbai (visa center) pickup location for this?   Anyone know if we can request the embassy to have it delivered in case the embassy does not do same day processing?

Of course my friend you can. There is a option for premium delivery for INR 500.which you have to pay on delivery by Blue dart and you can't pick up same day after interview coz after interview Embassy take at least 2 to 3 working days for official process .

Haha no worries. New Deli sounds just as good. Hey there's a 'new deli' open at the corner. :P

I wish you the best of luck. Don't delay. After the "ready" status its up to you and how fast you want your fiancé here. We turned ready on Jan 22nd and picked an interview date for Feb 2nd.

Hi, @KN18   You turned ready on Jan 22 and got your interview date for Feb 2nd - in between these 10 days did you get any letter/email from US Consulate, Mumbai or that is not needed ? You did your medical n biometrics after Jan 22nd ?

We also scheduled after "READY" CEAC status, but have yet to receive a packet (been 2 weeks since READY). Our interview is next week. Called USTravelDocs, but they just tell me that I wasn't "supposed to" book an interview before receiving the instruction packet. I have no idea if we will get one in time, but it doesn't seem to be required. Any feedback?

Hi @Soolw  Did you get your packet 4 via mail/email before your appointment ? How did your interview go ?

Hello,

I wanted to ask regarding supporting documents for i134 form  in respect to US Consulate, Mumbai. Kindly advice please.

Following supporting docs are to be submitted from the beneficiary :

1. Bank letter with date, balance & amount deposited in the last year.

2. Employment letter with joining date, nature of employment, salary n position type.

3.Last three months pay stubs.

4. Last three years tax returns and W2's.

5.Bank statement for 1 year.

My Fiance's salary is 6 figures, so do we need to add stocks/shares information or this would be sufficient?

Thanks in advance !!!

Hi

You have to carry these all documents during your interview in Mumbai and original signed I 134 Affidavit of support not photocopy.

If only you and your fiance is in the petition then it requires more than   $20000 including assets.

Based on my experience, you would not need stocks/shares if your fiance's salary is 6 figures. And you probably would be fine without the bank statement and bank letter, also.

Finally went to ready status and there are no appointments available!  After this long wait, isn't that just dandy. Any one know what is the best time to recheck daily ( I will probably obsessively keep checking anyway)

In the morning India time, maybe around 8am, worked best for us.
