AOS Medical Question

Hi I'm just about ready to send in my I-485 AOS packet along with many of the documents that are listed on this website to send with it. I'm a little confused about the

I-693/DS3025. 

 

-The DS3025 needs to be reviewed by a civil surgeon where we will be given a packet that we're not to open, right?

 

-Anyone have experience with how much this costs? The lady on the phone said $510.00 with reductions once they see what needs to be done and what's complete. Assuming everything is on track (I've checked and it is) how much did you pay?

 

-Also, the DS3025 is valid for one year, right? I read it starts from the date you sent in the I-485....and I also read because of that you should hold on to the medical packet the civil surgeon gives you UNTIL the interview, so it won't expire during AOS processing. (seems silly...why wouldn't it continue to be valid if it was valid at the time of submission)

 

Anyone that can clarify? 

 

I also read the I-693 isn't needed IF the DS3025 is all good to go. true? false? HAAAALLLPPP!

If the DS-3025 that you got from your doctor when you did your medical in your home country is marked "complete", then that's all you need.

 

Send a copy of the DS-3025 with your AOS package, that's it.

 

The overseas medical and the DS-3025 is perfectly enough if you file for AOS within 1 year from the date of the medical. If you do that, the overseas medical doesn't have an expiration date.
