Hello Everyone,

:help:

My husband has his K3/K4 interview on June 5th. I'm overjoyed but a bit concerned because the consulate requested a copy of my 2006 W2's and 1040. I'm worried becuase in 2006, I only earned $13,000 because I only worked half of the year; previously I was in Turkey. I guess I'm worried because of the poverty guidelines requirement. My current income is $32,000 before taxes. Any insight would be really appreciated. I'd be crushed if he was denied becuase of this.

Thank you in advance,

td

Which consulate are you talking about - each consulate operates differently so if you want advice from people who've been through the same one, you need to fill in your timeline. It's normal for the consulate to request taxes and W2s, especially after April 15. If you don't meet the guidlines based on income, you'll need to show other forms of assets or get a cosponsor. You should also bring paystubs to show your current income.
