Travel document and work permit

Hi,

 

I came to the US on October 2, 2017 with K1 visa, and I applied for green card, work permit and travel document on december 5 and I did the fingerprints on December 27,2 017. I have asked to expedite my work permit and travel document on January 11, 2018,  and I sent the additional information the USCIS asked for  7 days ago. I didn't hear anything from them yet and I am calling the customer services but they are not giving me any information. All they said is that I might receive my EAD and travel document by March 5 and I need to travel to france to attend a scientific conference on March 2. I would like to ask for advices from people they had the same situation as me. what can I do in this case?

Not much more you can do other than keep waiting. Expedite requests generally are approved within a few weeks, but sometimes it can take longer. 

 

It's also possible that they didn't approve your expedite request, as they generally only approve them in emergency situations for travel authorization. But until you get an official answer from USCIS, it's a waiting game.

Not much to do but wait. Once your cases is outside normal processing timelines, you can submit a service request or contact a congressman, although that doesn’t guarantee anything.

 

What was the basis to expedite the AP?

Thank you for your response. I am just afraid that I complicated more the process by asking to expedite

What was the basis to expedite the AP?

I was lecturer and researcher at the University of Nantes in France, and I got an official invitation of the University to be member in a dessertation jury. Attending this dessertation is so important for my research and career. I sent the USCIS by fax the invitation and a cover letter explaining that but I don't know how can I be sure that they received them.

I wish you luck, although I don’t personally see what expedite criteria that would meet (https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria).
